Nintendo DS lite/DSi RPG Recommendations
A few weeks ago, I was at an electronics store looking to replace my old digital camera and got sucked into buying a Nintendo DS lite (for me) and a Nintendo DSi (for one of my nephews). I swore I was done with gaming after beating the Doom and Fable series, but this stupid Cooking Mama 3 game (out of all games ) pulled me back in.
I bought Cooking Mama 3 and Professor Layton when I bought the systems, but now I'm looking for a good, LONG RPG to play. Does anyone have any suggestions? I like games that take weeks to beat. I've already beat the Cooking Mama and the Professor Layton game.

Re: Nintendo DS lite/DSi RPG Recommendations
Ragnarok Online DS. Comes out this week. it is not long to beat. . . .25th mission gets you multiplayer & the eternal tower, but it takes a long time for the whole thing and is fun.
Infinite SPace in March.
A Luxury DS with larger screen is also coming out soon as well as 5 good RPGs with no multiplayer.

Re: Nintendo DS lite/DSi RPG Recommendations
Thanks for the recs java! I'll have to check them out! Ragnarok looks like it should be fun. The characters remind me of the Fable characters a bit.
Although the new bigger DS is coming out, I had better stick to DSlite. Even the DSi was a bit much for me and I couldn't figure out all of the features. My nephew was playing with it and taking pictures within seconds...go figure.

Re: Nintendo DS lite/DSi RPG Recommendations
A few months ago, I purchased Aquarium DS. It's more like a 'virtual pet' game. You get to take care of various aquatic life, by feeding, maintaining an aquarium and cleaning it. Sounds boring, I know. But it's interesting a bit if you are into that. I like fish, and my particular favorite species is dolphins.
You get to take care of sharks as well. Just be careful not to put non-aggressive sealife in with them. I lost a couple of penguins, a manta-ray and a turtle b/c I forgot to feed the sharks....

Re: Nintendo DS lite/DSi RPG Recommendations
How much did it cost? Both Layton and Cooking Mama3 were around $30 and I don't think they were worth it. Maybe I'll try to catch a used copy of Ragnarok at Gamestop in the next few weeks.

Re: Nintendo DS lite/DSi RPG Recommendations
Ha, that's what people thought about Phantasy Star Zero when it came out in November.
It's still $34.99.
Good games are rarely traded in and not marked down until 4-6 months later. Hopefully some finicky idiot traded it in after a week for you.
Some on gamefaqs claim they played it for 30 minutes and didn't like it, but the first 5 is story line. next 4 is instruction. I doubt they got past novice.

That's a shame. People are too impatient and finicky. I like when a game takes time to lay out the story and to train players.

Re: Nintendo DS lite/DSi RPG Recommendations
I was playing Ragnarok online Ds 30 minutes ago while on LSa.
I finally made it to level 50 of mirage tower. I think I'll pull a hack to duplicate my Priest and add it to my guild so I can have it fighting beside me.
This is like the third time I've been reborn. I was a Knight , then Magician, then Priest.

Chrono Trigger, it's an old Super Nintendo game. Loved it then, still love it now. It was one of the first games I got when I bought my DSi. It does not feel dated and you'll love it.

Re: Nintendo DS lite/DSi RPG Recommendations
I finally beat Ragnarok Online DS.
lvl 61, 34 Preist.
Some bugs that let you duplicate your main character into your guild have been found.
I hope my guild gets 16+ members so I can do it.
smh& some of the flashbacks being form in game cinema, but end game cinema has the novice everywhere. I hope it lets me change that darn noob hair in a place other than Mirage Tower.
I've been going since 11:ooPm, I think. And It's 3:00AM now.
Yeah, 30 minutes won't get you far in the first part.
Wireless really helps though.
