The taxman cometh to Nashville. XXLMag.com has learned that the home of former G-Unit rapper Young Buck was raided federal agents, due to delinquent tax payments totally roughly $300,000.
The raid came despite Buck’s lawyers filing an injunction to protect his assets. Federal agents stormed his property early this morning (August 3), seizing jewelry, furniture, platinum plaques and even his recording equipment.
“The worst part of this isn’t the material stuff—that will all be replaced,” Buck said via statement. “It’s what it does to the people around me. They took my kids’ PlayStation, my assistants’ computers, and baby’s mothers’ jewelry. They took my home studio so I can’t even record…”
One of the few bright spots is that Buck was able to keep his home and vehicles. Following a tumultuous few years, the Tennessee MC moves forward with a positive outlook and lesson learned. . “I have a new team in place, but I am also paying full attention now,” he continued. “Nothing like this will ever happen again. This is a huge wake up call for all entertainers to stay on top of your own trusted employees and team members, and replace anyone that was put in place by your record label if the situation you have goes sour. This IRS situation came about because I trusted accountants, lawyers, and managers to handle my business for me while I focused on making music. From now on, I am going to stay on top of my own business.”

The home of rapper Young Buck was raided Tuesday in Sumner County by armed Internal Revenue Service agents, according to a statement he released.




The statement said that Young Buck, whose real name is David Darnell Brown, opened the door of his Hendersonville home Tuesday to find IRS agents with shotguns who seized recording equipment, jewelry, furniture and platinum wall plaques for a delinquent $300,000 tax bill.

Dan Boone, spokesman for the IRS, would only confirm that agents conducted a “civil action” Tuesday in Sumner County. He declined to name Brown as the target of the action or discuss the nature of their visit.

According to public records, Brown has had multiple liens for nonpayment of taxes, the most recent in May in Sumner County for $164,337 in federal taxes.


Young Buck came to fame after he was featured on the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ soundtrack with rapper 50 Cent. 50 Cent then signed the promising young rapper to his G-Unit Records, though the two have since parted ways.


He said in the statement that he was “relatively unscathed and reflective” after Tuesday’s raid. He blamed past managers, accountants and his former record label for his financial troubles.


“Nothing like this will ever happen again,” he said in the statement, calling the raid a “huge wake up call” for other entertainers. Still, he said he wanted his fans to know that he’s taking the raid in stride.

Now how is he going to blame 50, when it was 50 who helped him out the last time he had tax problems. I like Young Buck but his ass got out of pocket with the wrong one. I haven't heard about Yayo or Banks having IRS issues.
