Although many news outlets reported T.I.'s next single be "Swing Ya Rag," the clip never made it on major television networks. That left fans asking about the video. Recently, Tip spoke openly about the video controversy and more on what fans can still expect from Paper Trail.
It seems Louis Vuitton and Gucci were not happy to have their product featured in the video.
"We did it, and it came out hot," T.I. told MTV. "Louis [Vuitton] and Gucci started trippin' about it. They were saying we were infringing, in one way or another. They weren't happy about it. They didn't want it to come out. But it's hot, though."
He also added that more singles would be coming from Paper Trail. "Live Your Life," a Just Blaze-produced song which features Rihanna will be out soon, and "Swagger Like Us" can be a potential last single.
"I hope we can pull that off," T.I. adds. "That was the definite intentions initially. We have to see when everybody is all available. I'm available whenever they are."
Currently, he is planning a tour and working on his latest film, Bone Deep.

Infringe my ass. They only did that because they didn't want their product to be glamorized by some hood/urban/black? artist. Oh yeah, it's all good for us to buy their products from their stores and catalogs, but to openly 'advertise' their product over the airwaves for everyone to see is a big no-no. You would think they'd be happy that folks thought enough of their products to give them free publicity. A damn shame. They'd rather loose free publicity than have a rap artists freely promote it.
This sounds exactly like that Cristal/Jay-Z situation.
If they don't want our money, then we shouldn't want them!!! That sounds like the Busta & Courvisier. Again...celebs need to take their big money elsewhere.

^^^ita. this is why "we" need to stop supporting these racists.
I feel the same sometimes, but then we have to look at the Luxury Brands that work with us Minorities with open arms, i.e; Beyonce & Emporio Armani ... Kanye West is cool with Louis Vuitton, they have a shoe coming out soon. Same for Pharrell, so much so that they designed Jewelry together.
If I'm not mistaken, but doesn't Rihanna have a deal with Gucci on the table? Lil Kim is great friends with Marc Jacobs, he did a little Free Lil' Kim tshirt while she was in the feds.
I don't think its fair for us to immediately jump the gun and brand luxury brands as racist. I think these rappers and their management and or label need to take the proper steps in making sure these brands are cool with their endorsements prior to releasing it as a single, putting it on the album, or making a video.

I wouldn't want my luxury shit to be in these ghetto azz videos either. Stop acting like they are doing luxury brands a favor, they bring the ish down. Luxury is suppose to be exclusive...special. No one wants what everyone can have. J didn't put Cris on. Cristal was already hot...and still is hot. You guys throw up that low class...ghetto...fak e gold bottle if you want. Promoting for free is not a good look. Nelly keeps making songs for Nike, but I thought he had a deal with Reebok?????

I agree with you 100% especially pertaining to artists, especially artists who can still sell records like T.I ... there's no reason why his label or management couldn't have set up a meeting with LVMH (owner of Louis Vuitton) and got buddy buddy, like Kanye & Pharrell.
T.I is without a doubt the artist for an endorsement deal or two, but I think his gun case seriously messed up a few things.

Pharrell and Kanye are on a bit different path than TI...
Lol yeah I know, but my point was that Luxury Brands do in fact have no problem embracing black people and are not racists ... Elitist? Yes. Racists? No.

I agree completely. This is a business and T.I is a convicted felon headed to prison for posession of Illegal Firearms.
At the end of the day, it's not a good look. He's obviously a hothead and already didn't learn from his past mistakes. I agree with LVMH and Gucci Group on this one.

i definitely see your point, but sometimes i can't help but feel these two terms are intertwined...at least on the part of these luxury brands. it's frustrating b/c i like a lot of these designers, but i do feel insulted when i get the sense that they think their merchandise is too good for the urban market. who are they to turn their nose up at any consumer? if folks can can afford it that's all that should matter imo. is it a matter of them being concerned that the urban market will turn off their more blue blood customers? now if it was really just an issue of t.i. and 'em not getting the clearance or going through the proper channels to have the lv etc. in the video, i can understand that.

PARIS — Luxury goods maker Louis Vuitton has won a lawsuit that alleged a Britney Spears music video violated counterfeiting laws by showcasing a pink Vuitton-upholstered dashboard.
A Paris civil court ordered Sony BMG and MTV Online to stop broadcasting or marketing the video for "Do Something" in any form and fined them 80,000 euros ($117,000) apiece, a spokeswoman for Paris-based Louis Vuitton said Monday. The ruling was handed down last week.
In the opening scenes of the video, Spears appears in the driver's seat of a hot pink Hummer floating on make-believe clouds. One shot shows fingers drumming on a dashboard covered with what looks like Vuitton's "Cherry Blossoms" design: dark pink blossoms on a pale pink, weblike background, embossed with the "LV" logo.
The court did not find Spears herself guilty but ruled that Sony BMG and MTV Online were guilty of violating counterfeiting laws. The ruling said the video constituted an "attack" on Louis Vuitton's brands and its luxury image, the spokeswoman said.
It was not immediately clear how the ban would be enforced, or whether the companies would appeal.
MTV declined to comment on the ruling. Sony BMG did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The video was still on YouTube and other music Web sites visible in France on Monday. On a few sites, however, links to the video led to a blank screen, or one reading, "This video is no longer available."
Louis Vuitton, whose signature handbags are a prime target of counterfeiters worldwide, has fought vigorously through French and other courts to protect its trademark goods.
Louis Vuitton is a division of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA.
