Did Palin Use Crib Notes in her Tea Party Q&A?

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (8 PM CST)

Sarah Palin knew that speech like the back of her hand. The Q&A answers, however, were on the front of her hand.

Or so it appeared.

During the Q&A following her speech at the Tea Party Convention, Ms. Palin appeared to read from her hand in answering.

The following image was caught by some sharp-eyed Twitter users.








Crib Notes? This potential presidential candidate and "movement" leader was using crib notes to answer basic questions?

This would mean:

A) That she knew the questions beforehand and the whole thing was a farce. (Likely.)

and

B) That she still couldn't answer the previously agreed-upon questions without a little extra help.

If true, this is supremely rich coming immediately after a speech in which Palin took a shot at President Obama for using a teleprompter to read his prepared speeches.

You can bet that the President wasn't reading scribbles off his extremities while he sparred with Republicans and Democrats in an unscripted format in his recent Q&As.

Palin, on the other hand, seems to need a cheat-sheet just to get through a contrived lovefest with a smitten interviewer and an adoring audience.

I'm no fan of the Tea Party movement - if it can be called such - but if this is their leader I actually sympathize with them.

Did Palin write the answers to Tea Party Convention questions on her hand?

Tonight, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin spoke to the National Tea Party Convention in Nashville, TN, an event that was ditched by other high-profile Republicans who disliked its for-profit model. After her speech, organizer Judson Phillips asked Palin several questions. One of them was about what needs to be done when there is a “conservative House and a conservative Senate.” Palin jumped right in and said, “We’ve got to rein in the spending, obviously.” However, she then seemed to forget her next talking point and glanced down at her left hand, as if there were notes she had scribbled down. She went on to talk about “energy projects.”

Update Oliver Willis also caught Palin reading off of her hand. He points out that she made fun of President Obama during her speech for his use of a teleprompter.

I tried to watch this, but I just couldn't. On MSNBC, the newscasters were talking about how basically she was the greatest thing since sliced bread, and that they couldn't wait to hear her speech. I'm like are you kidding me?? I had to turn the channel.

Sarah, The Tea Party, and all of the previously mentioned supporters are dangerous. There are many many people who agree with the bullshit they are talking about and that in and of itself is scary.

Exactly. I thought I was watching a spoof, until I realized no one was laughing. They had a prof. from NYU on there saying that she is definitely a hopeful for the republican ballot for the 2012 election, and she definitely gets his vote.

If the Tea Party is starting to mobilize candidates in the 2010 elections then I am happy. I am sick of only two parties (some indepedents...yawn) sitting in Congress.

I honestly refuse to give this woman any airtime in my home.. But i had on CNN and caught her saying..

" We need a leader not a law professor lecturing us on law" and I thought WTF?? I think thats a good thing..! I want a president that knows the LAW! BUT.. doesnt that go against SP campaign claiming Obama is an expert on the LAW?..lol And now she is cheating like a 4th grader?..LOL
