well a question for all of ya'll would be if your party isn't acting right are you going to vote for someone outside of your party? I ask this because a lot of people for whatever reason will stick with their party till the end no matter how bad they fu!ked up. Sometimes people take party loyalty too far.

I am a republican.

I rarely have these conversation with folk...especially the folk that say "how can you be black and be republican" I find those that have this mind set rarely know anything in-depth about either party.

I just want to know what the party does for you. Politicans are politicans period. Every time I ask some one why they vote republican its always some bs answer. So I was just trying to get a better understanding of what the party is about. From what I see (esp. in S.C.) it's not about too much.

Of course your taxpayer money goes to you. The problem is these majority black communities are not paying that much in taxes. Their property values are low and their unemployment is high. As a result, you don't get much money back to reinvest in your community.

How do you know they are not paying that much in taxes? Are you assuming so because you are looking solely at lower income areas? If I am not mistaken based on the Republican party wouldn't those who make far less than those who are affluent pay just the same or more?

I never said it was anybody's fault it wasn't even up for debate it was an observation as to why I feel Blacks need to get back to spending money in their own community. That is why I pointed out the Black communities that were once successful and destroyed. For what reason? Being self sufficient. Even now I wish more of us had self sufficient communities.


That's because aside from hispanics, other ethnic groups don't ask for government help. When you walk through Chinatown, Koreatown, and Jewtown, it's built and sustained with Chinese dollars, Korean dollars, and Jew dollars.

You are kidding right? Those same groups ask for help just because you don't know about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. As a matter of fact many of these so called self sufficient do receive government money to start their businesses compared to that of Blacks, especially Black Americans

And most importantly, they keep those dollars in their community and bring in outside dollars as well. As a result, they can constantly improve their communities, increase property values, and built even more wealth.

How many times have you walked into a gas station or beauty supply shop and handed your money to anyone but a black person? There's part of the problem right there.

It all depends on where I am at. Usually in D.C. the persons are Ethiopian or West African, I can frequent Black owned beauty supply stores I don't and it is not because they are Black but because I am not aware of where they are. What is near me and convenient are the Asians who are either brought out by Ethiopians and other Africans and I frequent those as well. Black Americans who are new to D.C./MD find it weird that this area is mostly immigrant ran damn near, and find very little Black American owned businesses.

I find this sad as well. They, as far as numbers, are much smaller than us.......but so many mom and pop spots are by immigrants...

True but they are the main ones promoting Black self promotion and I am glad they are. Until they start being arrogant and thinking they are better than Black Americans then I have a problem, but they are doing well so I can't be mad at them for that

Anywyas, I like I said, state and local. Democrats don't do crap for me. Or Black people. Rp. Stephanie Stuckey Benefield. Gave hot dogs out for the black vote. Yet, look how much she does for the Black community nearly nothing. At "Stuckey's" rest stops in South Carolina family owned, they still carry the old rebel flag stickers. And then peopel wonder why the parks suck in the Black community?

You gave your vote away to a democrat for a hot dog. And you never heard form her again. She is deep in the suburbs, gettingpork barrel money for her part of town.

The system of chronic victimhood. The system that enables the black community to never take responsibility for it's own problems.

It's simple. You can go your local county assessors office and compare the property values and property taxes paid between majority black communities and majority white communities. Even when the income levels are similar, areas with a higher percentage of black people still have lower property values, thus end up paying less in property taxes.


There is a reason the black community will never be self-sufficient. Whenever something nice is built in the black community, something that could actually build wealth, value, and self-sufficiency, we tear it up. We spray paint it, throw trash on the ground around it, and riff raff starts hanging around it playing loud music. As a result, it drives the biggest and dependable spenders away (to go spend their money on the white side of town). The business makes less money. The black owners usually throw their hands up and sell the business to Arabs or Koreans who really don't give a shit about keeping the place up (after all, they don't live in the community). And they end up taking even more money out of the community.

This is not a money problem. This is a social problem. This is not something that can be fixed with more money from the government. The government just comes in, fixes up some buildings, puts up some street lights, builds a few parks, and we tear it all up again. Why? Because we have no vested interest in our communities. We didn't pay for it and as a result we don't take care of it.

The solution to this problem lies in the hands of the black people and black people only.


Believe when I say they DON'T ask for help. They don't get anything black people haven't been getting for years when it comes to money to start businesses.

- strong military
- strong locaol government
- focus on business
- health care reform that makes sense (control given to Patients)
- gun rights
- focus on education (Yes I agreed with NCLB...the problem was not the program, but that the program was under funded)
- The best teachers, I believe in a performance based system, if your students are failing, why should you continue to have a job
- Smaller Federal Government
- Strong national borders
- death penalty
- minimum sentencing guidlines

....The Liberal views REALLY are what is sucking the life out of the black community. We WERE are very conservative group, but as generations pass we get weaker and weaker. There was a time when education was the MAN FOCUS, even-though blacks knew all they had to look forward to was cleaning someones house or becoming a train porters.

...gone are the days of self reliance, we have become dependant on the goverment to care for us, instead of caring for ourselves.

No it not a money problem this is something I have been saying for years. Like at DC which spends more money per student than any state in the union. And these black kids fair no better. The problem is the lives and communites these kids have to turn too after school is out.
