Preacher Charged With Raping Boy

March 26, 2009 (WPVI) -- New Castle County Police have arrested a 40-year-old preacher who they say raped a boy.
Harry Benson, who resides in the unit block of Hillcroft Road in the community of Windy Hills in Newark, was arrested late Tuesday.

Benson is the senior pastor at the Eastwick United Methodist Church.

Authorities say the victim disclosed the sexual abuse to a resource officer at his high school. An investigation was immediately launched and it was learned that Benson had allegedly been assaulting the victim for several years.

Benson is being charged with rape in the first degree, one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, 12 counts of unlawful sexual contact in the first degree, and one count of sexual solicitation of a child.

Benson was arraigned and committed to the Howard Young Prison after failing to post $126,000 secured bail.

Many people in the church are so corrupt these days. I hope they lock that sick bastard up and keep him far away from children period. It just sickens my stomach to hear of what he did to that innocent child. My heart goes out to that poor boy. It'll probably take years for him to overcome the emotional trauma of that ordeal.

Some of these preachers need to repent and turn from their evil ways. They are the reason so many people have turned away from the church.

(might get groaned) Sometimes I think my heart aches just a little more when I hear a boy has been through sexual abuse a little more than a girl. Most times they don't tell and will probably just continue the cycle.

T.O.P., I won't groan you because I understand that you are not saying that raping a boy is worse than raping a girl. The reality is that boys tend to suffer in silence causing their sexual abuse to be grossly under-reported. This also causes the abuse to last longer increasing the possibility of that boy repeating his abuse and becoming a pedophile himself!

Maybe if they got rid of the bs about priests and nuns have to take a vow of celibabcy .... our kids would stop getting abused because the priests and nuns could have a normal sex life. They are sexually frustrated (putting it mildly) and are attacking those closest to them

Nasty fuck......another one that should get what he deserve in prison. Since he likes boys, I'm sure the men can't wait to get his hands on him.
