Speaking of Marilyn, she and Dorothy Dandridge were pretty tight friends. Marilyn tried to also get Dorothy into some movies, but racism being what it was and the fact Marilyn herself was losing power, it was not gonna happen. I've also heard that Marilyn used to invite Dorothy over to her house, and they'd spend hours talking, and they'd also go shopping together as well here in Los Angeles. James Dean also used to sit and talk with them as well when he came over to visit. I'd have loved to see Dean sitting there talking girl talk with them. As for the shopping, I guess they had the stores closed down so they could shop. Marilyn also it's 'rumored' loved sitting around the house naked and smoking pot sometimes. It's also 'rumored' that she Marilyn told Dorothy all about the affairs she was having with JFK and Bobby, which 'allegedly' scared Dorothy to death knowing this. Meanwhile, Marilyn was telling JFK he HAD to give African-Americans MORE Civil Rights.

I feel like Dorothy Dandridge and Gene Tierney were underrated when it comes to Beauty, they are just as or even more beautiful then the usuals..Liz, Grace Kelly...etc...

Dorothy Dandridge was very stunning indeed. It's no surprise also that her and Marilyn Monroe were close. Lena Horne considered Dorothy Dandridge to be the "black Marylin Monroe" and they had a lot of similarities in their lifetime.
Have to say though Lena Horne was right up there with her herself.

Liz, hands down. Liz was a Beauty since birth..lol, She was a natural Beauty. She always looked the same, even before she became famous. While Marilyn, had a complete make-over. Marilyn looked nothing like she did before she became a screen goddess. She had a lot of work done.

Elizabeth Taylor was - and still is - the most stunning actress to grace the screen. The camera truly loved her face.

Ava was very close to Lena. Almost besties. She said she always identified with and felt close to the plight of African-Americans and had a kin-ship with them, because she said she had black in her heritage. Beautiful woman also.
Another beauty:
Freddi Washington. A civil-rights activist. Bright. Talented.
Hedy Lamar. Was a genius, black-friendly. Anti-Hitler. Very Liberal.
Contrary to the urban legend, there's no real evidence Marilyn had anything done to her face. In my opinion her facial features look pretty much the same in the photos of her younger as they do when she's made over. I think her makeover was pretty much just makeup/hair/clothes...
