Report: Michael Beasley is 'toxic' to Suns, roster shakeup imminent
When the Suns agreed to a three-year, $18-million deal for Michael Beasley on July 4, the same day the Suns traded Steve Nash to the Lakers, here's what we had to say:
Out with an icon. In with a knucklehead.
Now, months later, with the Suns at 7-15 and Beasley seeing his minutes and role gradually diminished, things are going south in a hurry. USA Today reports that Beasley is considered "toxic" in the locker room, and big changes could be on the way.
Raise your hand if you don't bleed orange and white and are surprised. Anyone? Anyone?
This is Beasley's third stop where his talent is unquestioned but his focus and demeanor are an issue. At some point it's not about the coaching or situation, it's about who Beasley is. It doesn't mean his career is over, it doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be paid to play (though probably not $6 million per year and by probably I mean definitely). But he's now flamed out of Erik Spoelstra's and Dwyane Wade's graces, Rick Adelman's and Kevin Love's plans, and now those of Alvin Gentry, who needs a player like him to carry the load.
Beasley has 251 points on 256 field goal attempts this season.
The question is if that word -- "toxic" -- is in regard to his play, how teammates regard him on the court, or off-court issues. There have been rumors of Beasley complaining in the locker room about his role and minutes played. If he's a problem on the court and off the court, then what are you left with?
Out with the knucklehead, it would seem.

Sarver is toxic to the Suns, plain and simple
I don't even klnow who the hell plays for us anymore...we were doing well years ago and he F@#^&ed it up and it hasn't been the same since, so don't blame the players for his decisions and reasons for being a cheap @$$ hole

They have decent players but no superstar. Even Steve Nash and Grant Hill realized it was time to move on. The only positive thing about the Suns now is their training staff.

As a native of the DMV who watched him during his stint at Riverdale Baptist and on the local AAU circuit...he was over hyped! He's talented but his behavior, immaturity and lack of focus over shadows the talent he does have. Unfortunately I expect him to fall from grace a la Stevie Franchise and be back in the DMV with his host of kids, talking about what he would've been, should've been and could've been.
He may have a stint on the international circuit, but I doubt it'll be any better than his NBA stint.

As a Suns fan, you are right. I believe that the Suns' coaching and the organization have always prevent "themselves" from winning a championship.

Could be on the way? Listen. Everyone had real high hopes for this kid, and if you think his 3rd stop in the NBA since 2008, because he's "toxic" doesn't mean the end of his career, than all I can say is career means different things to different people. Yes, Michael is on the way to his 4th stop. I'd love to see where he goes after this contract expires.
Another young black man blazing a trail to self-destruction; I hope some of the blood suckers around him care enough to intervene.
