Ok so I have been blogging for over 7 years on and off, I cant tell you how many blogs I have because I have one for so many subjects including music and fashion.

So I have decided to put my freelance writing to use. I may be offered a position to do an online ebook, its on a subject im very familar with. I have never written in this type of style before, so im alittle nervous. Their budget to write the book is $500...for a 10,000 word ebook. Im pretty sure I can do it but I have never done it before so im cluless on what to charge. If there is gonna be more than one writer I dont want to be stingy with my asking price.

Any paid writers that can give me some tips or ideas on what to charge? Any advice in general? I'd appreciate it!!!

While I am not a paid writer, I do work in the publishing industry and plan to publish my own book in the near future.

The traditional/standard initial cost to publish a book, just to get it into the market, has been around $5,000.

I know that self publishing is big, and that if you find the right vendor, you can get your own quality, hard back, books printed for less than $2 a copy.

So, I guess you could measure how you should be compensated based on what you'd have to pay a company to publish/represent you. I am thinking, that would reflect your value to a publisher (online/hard copy) as a writer and the value/cost of the project.
