I am Mets Fan so I know all the jokes. I love them nonetheless. The Yanks could be in trouble with the injuries and lack of a minor league system to rely on. However if the pitching holds up they can hang by playing small ball.
The Braves outfield, when they are all clicking, are definitely a force to be reckoned with. But the Dodgers outfield is full of Gold Glovers and All-Stars too. I don't give a damn what anybody else told y'all, we have the best pitcher in baseball and his name is Kershaw...Clayton Kershaw. Kersh is a complete and utter beast. He's a modern day Sandy Koufax (although he has to win titles to be in the same breath as Sandy). We are about to pay him something in the $200 million range and he's worth every penny. And if the Yankees aren't careful, next year, we're gonna take Robinson Cano from you.
The Braves are hot right now. It will be Nats and Braves for the NL east. Philly will be problem as well. However the Braves and Nats are the two best teams in the division.
The Dodgers will take Cano if the Yanks do not sign him. Cano will get 200 million deal. They are all in terms of winning. They got 6 billion dollar TV deal so they want to have Yanks or Braves run of ten plus years of success to validate the buying the team and they money spent on the TV deal.
The main issue we have is what I have been ranting about the last year and a half....Don Mattingly. Matt Kemp is in a slump so the natural line of thinking is to remove a slumping player from an important part of the lineup. Kemp hits 3rd. Kemp in a slump hitting 3rd is close to an automatic out. He's pressing. Gonz should bat 3rd but does Mattingly do that? No...he keeps Kemp there. SMH.
General manager Brian Cashman announced that a CT scan revealed a “small crack” near Jeter’s previous injury and the Yankees expect him to miss the entire first half. As of now he won’t need an additional surgery, but according to Cashman there is no timetable for Jeter’s return.
Unless they start shopping for a trade the Yankees will be leaning heavily on Eduardo Nunez.
