Did you know that U2 were amongst the minority who spoke out in public with regards to the allegations in 1993?
It took place during the 28 August 1993 concert in Dublin, amidst the media uproar over pedophilia allegations. Bono spoke his mind about the claims and the hype. He said:

Thanks for letting us know. We know that Michael had a lot of fairweather friends. . so it's nice to see that Bono was always supportive of Michael.
Travis Payne said in an interview that Michael wanted Bono to be one of the guest performers at the London concerts.

Now that I found out he supported Michael he gets even more mad props from me. I have been a U2 since they first came out. (Giving away my age here lol) Still I love to meet him someday.
