Yeah. According to CNN, a private ceremony will be held for the family before the public memorial. I was watching Entertainment Tonight and they said several television screens and speakers will be posted outside because officials already know that the arena will be filled to capacity.

AEG and reps for the Jackson family just announced a memorial service for Michael Jackson will take place at the Staples Center on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. 11,000 tickets will be distributed free of charge to the general public -- a press conference will be held tomorrow morning to address the situation further.
Here's more info...you have to register for the free tickets. I'm sure they will go quickly so for those that can attend, stay on the lookout to find out what you need to do.
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Fans wishing to attend singer Michael Jackson's memorial service next week will have to register for the 11,000 free tickets, organizers said Thursday. Michael Jackson is shown rehearsing at the Staples Center on June 23, two days before his death.
Details on how to register for the 10 a.m. (1 p.m. ET) service at the 20,000-seat Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, Tuesday are to be announced Friday.
Jackson's family will hold a private ceremony before the public memorial service, his brother said Thursday.
Speaking to CNN's Larry King, Jermaine Jackson said the ceremony will be held Tuesday morning, but he did not say where.

Re: MJ Funeral Plans
I work near the Staples Center and they have already started blocking streets off. Although I will not be attending (not because I don't love Michael but because I detest large, unruly crowds), I anticipate some serious traffic issues and some major party crashers because those 11,000 tickets will be gone in a heartbeat and others will still want to come.

Yeah maybe they'll have screens for the fans outside.

Re: *UPDATED* PUBLIC MEMORIAL TO BE HELD ON JULY 7th
Here's info on his casket. Just looking at it gives me the heebie-jeebies ever since I heard Michael say in that Bashir interview that he doesn't 'ever want to be buried' and that he 'wants to live forever.' Then on top of that, it's the same coffin James Brown was buried in. I don't know if a lot of people know this, but Al Sharpton said Michael spent 5 hours alone at the funeral home (that held James Brown's body) before his funeral. Then of course we all saw him bend down and kiss James' body at the funeral.

A $25,000, solid bronze, 14-karat gold plated, custom casket has been ordered for Michael Jackson.
The casket -- ordered last night from Batesville Casket Company -- is called a Promethean and will feature a flame blue velvet interior and a hand-polished, mirror finish. This is the same casket used to bury James Brown... and is extremely rare.
i would love to go but that would be pure chaos. i would never get to see him. if it was meant for me id be there. i would just rather remember michael by his music and the beauty that he was. love u mike rip. you are free and happy and the media cant take that away.

"Never can say goodbye...no no no no....never can say goodbye
Even though the pain and heartache
Seems to follow me wherever I go
Though I try and try to hide my feelings
They always seem to show
Then you try to say you're leaving me
And I always have to say no...
Tell me why
Is it so
That I
Never can say goodbye....."

Damn it's getting close! The funeral is going to be a BIG reality check, it's SO final! I promise, I'm still waiting for a video or something of him laughing about how it was all a joke and say to us "I love you guys!" But I know he's not!
I want to go. Does anyone know how you go about getting the tickets?
