Bad Boy protege Mase has shown further signs of his return to the rap game by tagging alongside Trey Songz' "I Need A Girlfriend" remix.
Referencing Diddy's memorable "Bad Boy" slogan, Mase's latest record shows the emcee professing his feelings towards a love interest and confirming his rap return.
"I guess the prophecy was true," he says in the song's intro. "'Cause Diddy told us ten years from now we'd still be on top. I thought I told you that we won't stop. Now Mase wanna take you where it's sunny and enjoy you like my money/Have you out the 'hood, so your crew think you acting funny/And one night can be a long week on a Rome beach/50 carat in each charm and that's a charm a piece/Hopping out of planes, shopping out of Spain...You can take my fame, take my chain, take the name, take the glam/It don't mean a thing, just as long as you and me remain/You with me, I'm with you/So I know what we can do/Take a trip out to Peru but not speaking on what we do...Tell everybody that the boy back in the building/Tell Suge to bring the duffle, I'm about to make a killing." He first appeared on Drake's "Best I Ever Had" remix last week.
"I said girl so beautiful, down to the cuticle," Mase raps, "I can't explain it, every time I take a picture with you, I wanna frame it...Please don't re-arrange it, I could be your prosecutor, you can be my plaintiff/You could be my coffee girl and I could be your danish/You already camera-ready, you ain't even famous...I'll move you out the 'hood for good/Not ask that brother if he would he could/Mase won't lie to you, when I say I'm good, I'm good/Strawberry or canary, tell me how you want your wrist/It's Mase and Drake, promise you'll remember this." Despite past "comebacks," Mase said his most recent one was inspired by the late Michael Jackson's unexpected passing.
"I'm just excited man," Mase said in an interview. "I'm excited. Mike passed away, it just lit the fire up under me, made me wanna go to the studio and do something. So I asked my little nephew, 'Who is the hottest thing out there?' He said Drake and I said I got to see what record he got and when I listened to it I said 'Okay, I'ma jump on the joint.' And I called Suge up and he was like, 'Please let me get that record, please let me get that record.' So I said 'Who you gonna give it to?' And he said you gotta give that to DJ Self. [laughs] If you play it, [you'll get more records from me.] If you play it, you know I stay with a couple things under my sleeve, I just need some place to play 'em. Big shout-outs to Diddy, shout-outs to 50 [Cent], big shout-outs to the whole Harlem, Cam, Jim and all them." (Power 105.1)
The rapper's last album was released nearly five years ago.
Mase worked extensively with inner-city youth, became an in-demand inspirational speaker on the religious circuit, and published a memoir titled Revelations: There's a Light After the Lime. He returned with a new album, Welcome Back, in 2004. (All Music)

So does he still have his "church"? Is he no longer a "minister"? Because I'm pretty sure the rap game does not fit into a religious life - at least not THIS rap game involving Diddy and Suge.

OMG I was the biggest Mase stan back in the day to the point where I wrote Ricki Lake 83 days in a row asking to be on the show and MTV's Fanatic called me, but I didn't get picked... but he needs to sit his ass down somewhere..
