So last night my laptop was working perfectly fine I shut it down put it on my desk and then I went to sleep. Today I woke up and opened my laptop the screen looks fine. But then I turn it on there's this huge ink spot on my laptop, now I used it last night it was fine and as far as I know my roommate didn't come back to this afternoon. So I'm confused as hell so I call HP because I'm still under warranty but lo' and behold the shitty ass warranty doesn't cover this particular damage. Because apparently ink spots don't just pop up something has to happened to it. She said it can be dropped or hard pressured can be applied and the ink will begin leaking and it can take time for it to appear now I wasn't here until Saturday night at around midnight. And I know my roommate XL ass loved to come on my side of the room to lift up the blinds and it's such a small spot I can definitely see her dropping my laptop and just going about her business. Because I have never dropped my laptop nor have I ever had any problems with it. And this isn't the first time, I also once came back to the room to see my cord ripped out the socket.

Anyway I have no evidence she broke it so now I'm trying to figure out what to do. HP wants to charge me 235 to fix the screen. Now I'm wondering will I have better luck going to a local computer repair? What did you see me having to pay? Also anyone who has had this experience was the lady right about it not just having but something had to be done to it?

With Christmas sales, you are almost better off buying a new laptop (depending on what brand it is of course). Or if you don't want to do that you should research. My mom found a business on craigslist that only charged $50.00 to repair her laptop. As far as the roommate you could ask her but you know she will lie. If you didn't see her do it you have no proof. Next time keep it locked up or in a safe place.

Yes, you have to upgrade your warranty if you want drops and spills to be covered. Keep that in consideration for future reference. I would atleast ask my roommate about it first. She might confess and pay.
