It has been reported that Warner Brother Films will be creating the motion picture of the late singer and actress Aaliyah who died in a plane crash in 2001. Aaliyah sold more than 32 million albums worldwide before her career was cut short. The film will be a biopic of the singers life. Bill Condon, director of “DreamGirls” will be directing the film
A source for the film reveals that they “will be going very deep into Aaliyah’s life” and will allow fans to see the “most intimate side of Aaliyah’s legacy.” Sources say the script for the film ‘holds no bars’ and will go as far as touching on the subject of Aaliyah’s highly debated and publicized marriage and annulment to producer R.Kelly
It has also been confirmed Aaliyah’s colleagues will be featured in the film. Her choreographer Fatima Robinson, Producer and friends, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Ginuwine, even world renowed music video director Hype Williams will be apart of the film and help re-create the “Rock The Boat” video set which was the last video Aaliyah ever shot. The movie is tentative to start production end of March and is rumored to have a production budget of over 80 million dollars.

I'm surprised....I just don't see the point

I lovvvee Aaliyah. The point is all these other people have movies about themselves, their lives. She was just taken waaaay to soon. We would be the same damn age if she wasn't gone. *cries*

Why not a movie, true I don't know how interesting it's going to be but on the other hand I'm sure her life wasn't drama free.

I dont have a problem with it I just dont see the point; other people who have had movies made about hteir lives or their careers had some type of importance to the greater context; either socially or the industry; it seems the big idea about her movie is that she died young; not that she changed the game in any way or broke any records, or was successful admist discrimination or other social ills

I love Aaliyah and hopefully it will be entertaining but I agree based on what I know about her - her main scandal was marrying R.Kelly - maybe they will show some drama with her and Dame or something?

I think lots kinda bit her style for sure like Ciara etc. so I don't know - i don't see enough drama here but Im sure there are things we don't know...

Yes, I heard that Keisha girl is supposed to play her too. I also heard that filmmakers were thinking about Ciara, Alicia Keys, and the girl who played Malik's half sister from the TV show "The Game" portraying the role. I think it should be either Keisha or the girl from "The Game". Not only do they heavily favor Aaliyah, they also have more of her essence.

the point = to make money... MJ was a cash cow for his fam; Aaliyah was a cash cow for hers.

Lisa Tucker looks nothing like Aaliyah.

Neither does Keisha...I love me some Aaliyah but this should be a cable tv movie at best.

It will flop.
