Cissy Houston has made it pretty clear how she feels about the idea of Rihanna playing her daughter in a biopic… To put it mildly — she ain’t having it!

WHITNEY HOUSTON’s still-grieving mother is furious after learning that RIHANNA might portray her tragic daughter in a feature film, sources tell The ENQUIRER.

The 24-year-old R&B singer has referred to Whitney, who accidentally drowned in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Feb. 11, as one of her idols. She recently told an interviewer she would love to play Whitney on the big screen.

But Whitney’s mother, gospel singer Cissy Houston, 78, fumed when she heard Rihanna was gunning for the role. “Over my dead body!” declared the pop star granny, according to a source.

“Cissy believes Rihanna cel*ebrates everything she hated about Whitney’s life – the drugging, the boozing, the abusive relationship,” the source continued.

As The ENQUIRER reported in January, Rihanna’s pals were urging her to check into rehab after last year’s hard-partying “Loud” tour was plagued with health issues and a trip to the hospital for what her reps said was “the flu.”

“Cissy does not think Whitney should be represented by some*one like Rihanna,” said the source.

“In spite of what anyone thought about Whitney, she sees her as a God-fearing Christian who loved the Lord.”

It seems like Cissy hasn’t fully accepted all of who Whitney was and that’s sad but considering that Rihanna hasn’t done much acting outside of “Battleship” we probably wouldn’t want her playing Whitney either.

I can respect Cissy Houston's opinion and the reasons she gave for not wanting Rihanna to play her daughter are valid. Unlike the idiots here on LSA who keep bleeping on about someone needing to have Whitney's vocal techniques in order to play her.

There's NO way in hell Rihanna could play Whitney. That accent alone is enough for her to not play Whitney.

Last month, a rep for Clive Davis denied to ABC News Radio that the record executive is developing a film based on Whitney Houston’s life. Nevertheless, if such a project ever does see the light of day, Rihanna is volunteering for the lead role.

Britain’s The Telegraph quoted the singer as saying she hasn’t been contacted by anyone about a possible Whitney biopic, but, she added, she would “love” to star in one. She said, “That would be something that I would have to give my entire life to do because I would want to really pull it off. That’s a huge, huge role and whoever does it has to do a good job.”

Rihanna cited Whitney as one of her musical idols, saying, “My first song that I remember falling in love with was a Whitney Houston song — ‘I Will Always Love You.’ All of her music actually was always played in my house, with Mariah Carey and Celine Dion.”

Rihanna and Jennifer Hudson had been linked to Clive Davis’ supposed Whitney film.

I don't even understand how Rihanna was even a possible.person to play her. They need to do auditions and pick some no named, talented chick who resembles Whitney. That's who deserves it.

Rihanna was asked about it in some interviews and she said it would be an honor to play Whitney or be considered for the role.

I think it was Clive Davis who said that there is currently no Whitney biopic in the works.
