Re: Cissy Houston on Rihanna playing Whitney in biopic: 'Over my dead body'
Doesn't matter who Cissy wants to play Whitney. Movies are made all the time about dead celebs without family involvement or against the family's wishes.
And I don't really know who could play Whitney that's out right now. If it's gonna be a big screen movie and not a made for television movie they're gonna need someone who can act, resembles her and can be a big draw at the box office and no one out right now can do that. And lastly why would they even pick Rihanna, she looks nothing like Whitney.

In case you don’t understand what the rap/hip-hop industry is really about, let me explain it to you as clearly as I can: rappers, hip-hop artists, anyone who works in that industry HATES black women. The industry is built upon degrading black women in order to turn a buck. To them, the black female body is simply grist for the mill. If you, or anyone you know, is still buying mainstream rap or hip-hop you are supporting coonery with a capital C–you are paying for your own degradation.
Honestly, I think any black woman who still buys mainstream rap/hip-hop hates herself, or, at the very least thinks that somehow the degrading of black women in general will not affect her in particular. Or either she is as dumb as a bag of rocks.

Listen, WH was a once-in-a-generation gift. Her voice was incomparable. Some have called it a national treasure. No one can imitate WH and get away with it. They will have to lip-sync, in my not-so-humble opinion.

Cissy is in denial.
RIP to Whitney, but she was a mess.
She had been that way for years.
There is no telling Whitney's story without telling that part. It wouldn't be accurate nor beneficial to others if the truth were omitted. Newcomers need to visualize the consequences of certain habits. Someone like Rihanna could learn alot just from researching the role.
I damn sure do not want to see Bobbi, Ciara, or Brandy playing Whitney.
Whitney lived a more rough life than Rihanna.
Give Rihanna some credit.
Whitney had changed her home into a crack den some time ago. No one can match that life right about now.
Maybe Maia Campbell? Jennifer Freeman?
And it's too soon for biopic, anyways.

I agree. Seems like Cissy is blaming everyone for the troubles in Whitney's life except Whitney. The drinking, drugging, and partying were a huge part of her lifestyle--so much that it contributed to her death at the end. Addiction issues coupled with denial are a tragedy waiting to happen.
Re: Cissy Houston on Rihanna playing Whitney in biopic: 'Over my dead body'
Whoever they choose, I think she should be thin and be brown-skinned so that at least visually, she favours Whitney. Out of all the black actresses out there, I'm sure they can come up with someone who fits that physical description. Also, I'm sick of seeing the same circle of black actresses every time a part calls for a black actress -- choose a new face -- give somebody new a chance to come up!!
