Even in the mess that BBB was Whitney's undeniable star quality couldn't be denied. She was funny as hell. At 19:48 she demands that Bobby tie her shoe and his slight of hand trick has her demanding he hurry up so they can get home. This is also the infamous "black love" episode. They were still attracted to each other though the relationship was a big mess and the end was near. It was courageous and smart on Whitney's part to get out of it but I wished she had made the most important move of going into some real serious rehab. A clean and sober Whitney with her wit even sharper would have made a great reality show but doubt she would have done it.
Ammons talks about Bobby and Lynne Whitfield. I had never heard about a Bobby and Lynne hook-up.
"When I saw that Lynn Whitfield was in the movie "A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, I thought, Uh-oh. Bobby and Lynn used to be very tight, even though he was dating Whitney at the time. I was first aware of it at the Black Achievement Awards in 1991. I could see some flirting going on, and I could see that Whitney was getting a little hot under the collar. Finally, Whitney confronted Lynn. I didn't hear all of the conversation, but I did hear Whitney call Lynn a bitch and tell her to stay away from her man or I'll kick your ass!" Now the press was reporting that sparks were flying on the set and that it was Bobby who had suggested hiring Lynn for the movie. (Don't think he had that kind of influence). I hoped Whitney's new "kinder, gentler" personality would win out over the old, hostile one when she saw the pictures of Bobby escorting Lynn to the premiere of the movie."I don't think she even gave it a second thought," a friend told me. "She's so used to Bobby making a fool of himself in public, she just looks the other way."

Whitney being awfully possessive over a mere "beard". Lynn couldn't find her own beard?
Both Whitney and Bobby were very possessive people. But they were also very passionate about each other. Who knew "sham" marriages, were so passionate and turbulent.

Yes they were. Robyn knew it to. That is why she worked so hard to sabotage the relationship. She knew Bobby was crazy jealous of other men and Whitney was just as jealous of other women sniffing around Bobby. Planting stories in the tabloids, some friend.

Speaking of Phaedra..here's what she had to say about Whitney and Bobby since she apparently spent time with both of them during the trial.
Bobby wasn't the man a lot of people wanted Whitney to be with, but she sure did love him.
If her parents and even her fans could have chosen somebody for her it certainly wouldn't have been Bobby. It was Whitney's "prerogative" to be with him. Whitney was like the line from Dee Dee's song "Foolish Fool" -
I told my mother and father, too
I'd give them all back before i'd lose you
The physical attraction to young Bobby is quite understandable.
He was worth 22 million..and lost it. But he wasn't the broke joker he became when they first got together. That's how he could afford the blinged out rings and all the presents he was sending her...according to Dionne. And he was also very attractive in the eyes of MANY women...including Whitney's.
Whitney certainly had a thing for tight lean bodies, not overly muscled but well defined. I don't blame her. I don't like that penitentiary, cartoonoonish blown up steroid look either.

I agree. Eddie Murphy and Bobby were actually quite similar in stature. Although, Eddie I believe is shorter than Bobby.
Kevin Ammons describes Whitney as headstrong and controlling, almost the same thing Robyn said. A far cry from what how many like to paint her as. These two knew her better than all the arm chair psychiatrist who attempt to portray her as a helpless victim manipulated and pushed around by all around her. If that was the case then Robyn was one of the earliest bullies and manipulators. She was two years older and in college. No difference later but a big deal at 16 and 18.
Wasn't it Robyn who wrote, "Whitney did whatever she wanted to do"? So she is essentially confirming Whitney lived her life as she CHOSE to live...with the men she CHOSE to be with. The notion that Whitney was helpless and weak is just funny to me. Everyone who knew her has essentially said the same thing about her...she was very stubborn. She was obviously kind and accommodating, ONLY to a certain point. Its also funny how fonts claim, her religion dictated her life and made her feel "guilty". I mean, Whitney Loved God very much, but she wasn't one who lived according to the word. But people will reach just to make a point.

Right. Whitney wasn't exactly a stickler for the 10 commandments, though she was very spiritual not religious. There are some religious people who are just dead spiritually.
