Old Affirm Fiberguard Sensitive Scalp Relaxer Review
NOTE: This was just MY experience and everyone is different, but I know I appreciate reading others' reviews, so I try to review products as well.
-------------------------------------------------

As some of you may know, I have been trying out different relaxers each time I relax my hair (just to give as many brands as I can a chance). Well last night I used Affirm Fiberguard Sensitive Scalp Relaxer. I was really looking forward to this relaxer after all the good things about it, but I have to say, the results were just so-so.

THE GOOD:
- Left my hair feeling very silky and soft
- Didn't burn

THE BAD:
- Didn't straighten very well - just left it wavy.

I'm someone who likes their hair bone straight after relaxing, so ending up with wavy hair was disappointing. You had the option of leaving it on up to 13 minutes for mild strength, 15 minutes for regular, 18 minutes for super strength. I left it on the maximum 18 minutes (I originally planned for 15 but left it on longer after it didn't seem straight), so for it to still come out wavy made me mad.

So overall, if you just want a loose curl or textlaxed hair, you might like this. But if you like bone straight hair, you might want to try something else. Funny enough, I looked up some reviews on this relaxer tonight, and apparently I'm not the only one who didn't get their hair as straight as they would have liked (again, this was with the Fiberguard Sensitive Scalp).

Next time I'm going to try Mizani. Let's hope there's better luck with that!

Girl, I've been doing them by myself for the last 12 years. Went to a salon once as a teenager for a relaxer and the "professional" didn't get my hair half as good as I can do it. I vowed from then on to keep doing my relaxers on my own and not waste my money. I only go to the salon now for my haircuts.

I've used it a few times when I used to relax and I thought it was just me.
But then again, sometimes my new growth would be completely straight depending on the stylist who applied it.

My guess is that if it has to be left on a little bit longer because it may not be a strong as the regular Affirm relaxer.

I've never had this problem with my hair not getting straight and it usually doesn't burn. I will say after 6-8 that's it there is no stretching it further than that.

The FiberGuard Sensitive Scalp relaxer is a four-step system for professional use only. FiberGuard Sensitive Scalp relaxer is designed to leave the hair with more tensile strength and elasticity. The professional stylist can use Affirm for those seeking bone straight hair.
