Re: Rx for Brown Skin
Just another product but aimed for women of color. I see nothing wrong with this advertisement though because besides Ambi, all other skin care seems to be aimed white women.
When I see this in the store, I'll try it.

They lost me there. I want more healthy skin, not lighter.

No I havent seen it. Sounds like some sort of fade cream line-- I'm more likely to try a cleanser, exfoliator, toner, astringent, moisturizer package.

Hmmm "brighten skin" is code word for bleach the mess out of yourself if you want. Some of these "discolorations" are naturally occurring in people with more melanin, but I suppose if it bothers you, do you.

I've used it. I don't find it to be any better than other products like it.
Co-sign. I've used Murad, Proactive, and Rx For Brown skin and they all worked about the same to me. Murad worked nicely but I felt it was a bit too pricey. Proactive made my face get worse before it got better. Then in a few years my face became accustomed to Proactive. As far as the skin brightening part in the Rx For Brown Skin description, it didn't lighten my skin but it gave it a very beautiful glow.
Rx For Brown Skin IMO is very similar to the Neutrogena Visibly Even line that Gabby Union was a spokesperson for. You'd be better of just buying that than spending $$$ on Rx For Brown Skin.
Honestly, I had even better results with evening out my sking with the Youthful Essence At Home Microdermabrasion kit than Murad, Proactive and Rx For Brown Skin.
Op if you are looking to even out your skin and get rid for hyperpigmentation. I'm a reformed pimple popper and I swear by Procative's Refining Mask. That's the only thing I still use from Proactive.

Didn't someone mention that this is what Meagan Good used on her skin, I may look in to this
Yeah, this is what she uses. I heard that it is a good line, but I've never tried it.
Also, brightening doesn't necessarily mean lightening. Brightening is a good idea if you have dull, lifeless skin.
ETA: Murad is THE TRUTH. Especially the Immuno-Skin Age Inhibitor moisturizer. I have yet to find a moisturizer that works better. I don't care how much it costs. This ish is ink into my monthly budget. (also want to add that this product is hard to find. If you are in good with an aesthetician in your area, they will be able to hook you up or you can find it online)
Their Essential-C Eye Cream with SPF 15 is the truth as well.

hmmmm....I wanna try that!
Sephora also sells Murad but I ordered my kit online. At the time I was using it, I was a cash strapped college student LOL. Out of the 3 skin kits, I'd highly recommend Murad.Talking about it is making me want to start using it again.
Their Skin Claryfing pills are the truth! Those pills were pushing all kinds of gunk out of my system. Whatever those pills were doing on the inside showed on the outside. I saw a difference not just on my face but all over my body. I've tried different skin pills and those worked the best and the fastest IMO.

Girl, I love Murad. Their stuff can be a bit pricey, but it works. So you actually save money by not buying a bunch of crap that doesn't work. I don't know how much money I've saved over the years by not being cheap and buying cheap stuff that doesn't work.
Both the moisturizer and the eye cream are from the professional line, so you have to buy them at a med spa/day spa or have an aesthetician friend hook you up. I have an aesthetician friend that hooks me up with them. She first gave me about 30 tiny samples of the face cream and a full bottle of the eye cream. Thoes 30 samples lasted for about two months because there was enough in the little tube for three applications. But, after trying the face cream for a week, I was hooked.
I've never trying the skin clarifying pills, but I'll give them a shot.
I used to be a huge Dermalogica fan until I stumbled upon Murad by mistake. Almost everything I've tried from them is amazing. Their Energizing Pomegranate Lip Therapy is also the truth. That stuff will have your lips as soft and smooth as a baby's behind.

Skin "brightening" does not mean bleaching or lightening your skin. Good grief! Brighter skin just means clearer, more even skintone with a glow to it. People are so obsessed with skin color and bleaching that everything becomes suspect. Just like people are always accusing celebs of bleaching when a lot of them are not. If any person goes from being Joe Blow washing their face with a rag and some Noxema to getting expensive spa treatments all the time, their skin is going to brighten & even out. Good exfoliation will do that by itself. It doesn't mean the person is trying to bleach or be lighter but different skincare methods can make a HUGE difference in appearance. People jump all over Beyonce, but look at Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock then vs now. Their black asses aren't bleaching, they just stopped using their ass rag and whatever soap their mama bought on their face lol.
RX for Brown skin did JACK SHIT for me. Not worth the money in my opinion.
(I'm also merging this thread with the other RX thread started a couple weeks ago. Please start doing a search before starting new threads).

And yes, brightening does not mean lightening. How did people...um... Anywho, yeah I want to even out my skin and give it a nice glow. whew!
And yes, I am a pimple popper. Getting better, though.

The thing I found out (after YEARS of hyperpigmentation) is that u have to stop the pimples before u will notice any difference with clearing up the darker spots. I was on antibiotics and that worked but wasn't practical to take every day for the rest of my life, plus it made me kinda nauseous if I didn't take them at the right time.
The only other thing that has worked for me to stop acne (I have oily skin and not a day went by that I didn't wake up with at least 2 new pimples) is using tamanu oil on my face at night. Dr. Oz recommended it and I ordered it on Amazon last summer. I can count the number of pimples I've had since last July. I also used Oxy wash in the black bottle and the acne pads and those 2 things cleared up my acne really well. After 20+ years of ALWAYS having a pimple or 5.
