Re: are unsealed lipsticks safe
So why don't companies seal them?
I wanted to buy maybelline's nearly there lipstick. It's not packaged wrapped though. Most drugstore lipsticks aren't packaged.

Re: are unsealed lipsticks safe
I have never purchased lipstick, but if I were, you bet your bottom dollar it would be SEALED!!!
Story to tell here..
Was in the drugstore oneday getting some nail polish and their was some lipstick a few feet away from me. I saw this woman walk up the lipstick take the cap off of one, put it on her lips, look in the mirror, wiped it off, closed the cap and then proceeded to ANOTHER lipstick. Now that I think about it, there was another time this lady had tried some on after having a coughing fit (not sure if it was a smokers cough, or a sick cough) but either way it was nasty.
If you MUST buy some lipstick, at least open it up and make sure it doesnt look used. But for me, I wouldnt even go there, my motto:
"If aint sealed, we cant make a deal."

Re: are unsealed lipsticks safe
That's a question that I had as well, because I have been dying to try the Loreal Lipstick (somewhat of a pink shade) that is fashioned after Kerri Washington. But the more I think of it, when you are trying on MAC or Bobbie are people always spritzing on alcohol, or just going for it? I may have to order online.

I can't TELL YOU how many times I have gone into CVS and have seen FOLK (white and black) TEST the lipstick then put it back. Just nasty!
