School just started too, dang. I'm going to apply when the semester is over. Can yall go over some of the tests? I don't want to fail. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I work for a regional. I saw an ad in craiglsist, applied, went to the open house in my city and got hired. Some airlines hire on the spot with mine they notify you in three weeks.
Dang some of them are on food stamps?I didn't know it was like that.Are they flying a lot?
Yep! I mean starting off you barely make 20K/yr really. Like the pay is per flight and it can vary from week to week. You may do 5 flights this week, next week you may for 3.
FA's what would you say is the starting salary range?
That's why I would shoot for a bigger airline too.Better pay, better benefits.
Starting FA salaries are going to range from 16-20 an hr starting position and then youll get raises every yr. NOW lets be clear because although you get that amount doesnt mean you will be rolling in the dough. That salary starts from the time you close the aircraft door until you open the door so with that being said when you get the airport , when you are boarding, when there is a delay at the gate and etc you will not be getting nada. Your yearly income will be looking like 20k if that.
If you are new to the airline game you can start off as regional. The smaller companies that flies for the bigger companies such as Pinnacle, compass, skywest, american eagle, express jet and etc. You will only be flying domestic flights with Canada and Mexico and some Virgin Islands being the furthest. Start there for a few months and if you like it and can hang then graduate to mainline.
Also, huge misconception do not think just because you are a FA esp mainline that your first flight is going to be to Rome, London, Paris or any exotic location because 10x out of 10 it will be to some small city in Nebraska youve never heard of. Its all about seniority and the FAs that have been in the game longer gets the first pick as to where they want to fly to. Which means......the newbies will get the leftovers.
Then you have reserve life. Which sucks major hanging balls with regional your first 6mo-1yr you will be on reserve meaning they can call you at anytime and tell your ass to be at the airport no less than an hr and 30min from that call OR youll do long ass hours at the airport and wait around the crew room and see if they'll pull you out for a flight. It sucks. With mainline your reserve time is much more...maybe about 5yrs some even 10yrs. So good luck with that.
As far as Virgin America, IMO it is the best airline to work for in the states because its so hip and fun. The start off pay is 20hr and you will have to live in San Fran until there is space for you at JFK or LAX thats if you even want to switch. My friend works there and I was suppose to work for them but I rejected the offer however, if Im still feeling like flying and I want to do it when I go back to the states I will be applying to them again.

Loving this thread! I have my heart set on Delta and plan to apply whenever they start hiring again! =) For those of you that are current or former flight attendants, any tips on being chosen? It seems like 90% of the battle is even making it to a face to face interview with SO MANY people applying these days. Any idea what you did that made you stand out? And what did your resume look like? Thanks for any info you can give!
I got offered to fly out to Houston for an interview, but didn't make it. I need a steady job because I have too many bills. This would have been perfect if. I was a little bit younger with less bills
