I started doing promotional work because I couldn't find anything to work around my college schedule. The pay is good most jobs pay $15/hr or more. Go to Stuck for staff, they have a list of agencies. Average pay for the jobs is about one month, but be sure to check the contract you sign it could be as much as 90 days...

This was an awesome thread! I've started a couple of blogs but have not made the money others have though I haven't been as consistent either. I've also written for Freelance Jobs | Demand Media Studios who has several clients. The clients I work for pay $25 per article one of which I can complete in 45 minutes if I really focus. Some people do it in 30 minutes and some people take all day... just depends on your discipline and knowledge of the material. They pay twice per week via paypal.

I've signed up with Welcome to Examiner.com | Examiner.com too. In the past, pay has not been so great since it really depends on pageviews and they don't let us know the formula. They pay $50 per referral though (that is not a referral link above). Also, if you don't write for them on a regular basis, they take the money you've made if it hasn't been paid out. Needless to say, I have not been that motivated to write for them and they keep threatening to take away my privileges but then try to convince me to start writing for them again. I know they've made some changes but I haven't checked into what. I might give them a try again since I keep hearing them referred to as sources and people listing them on their websites when they get props from Examiner. They're good if you want to build a profile in your locality or niche.

I signed up for www.Etsy.com last year and made some money from that but I need to add more products to my store. I sell organization printables there (never thought of it as a sales category before). I'm thinking of printing them and selling them through an online store though.

I've also considered writing e-books based on my blog topics. That seems to be HOT now and simple to do with little monetary investment... anyone here doing it?

The company I work for primarily is a local agency that posted an ad in the gigs section under events looking for liquor promo girls. CL is especially helpful if you live in a large metro area. If you're slim (just being honest), cute and have a great personality you should be good.

National agencies you should sign up with: GC Marketing, Attack!, Redpeg marketing, Encore Nationwide, PUSH models. These offer mainly brand ambassador work which pays usually $15-18/hr. You should do a search using the phrase "promo model". There are some helpful threads here.
