Why not just try drinking more water and eliminating salt from your diet to prevent swelling of the ankles.
Also, your swelling of the ankles could be the result of other things besides just retaining water (check with your Dr. if your ankles are always swollen or swollen more than usual).
Best of luck to you !

Diurex water pills are over the counter and very mild and therefore you are rarely going to notice any change. The best diuretic (water pill) to take is Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) which can be prescribed by your Physician.
Blackbeauty make sure you tell your Physician to prescribe HCTZ (Hydrochlorothiazide ) for you, they are usually very open to write this type of prescription. Diurex is too mild.

Edema is serious...swelling in your ankles...could also mean water around your heart...go see a doctor...and sleep with your feet above your heart...i.e. propped on pillows...

I have told the Dr about this and they have found no other serious ailments. I don't put salt on anything and I eat low sodium food, I would pretty much have to starve myself. Plus the heat does not help either...

I take this sometimes when my pressure is elevated and it works really well. My first week of taking it I lost 6 lbs.
