I know quite a few older sisters that are married with kids whom are fit and fab. Your body responds well at every age to a healthy lifestyle.
Staying truly active as an individual and family yields positive results. My sister and brother in law are prime examples. They are constantly doing active things with their kids (even in the winter) and both hit the gym regularly.
My sister cooks most of the family meals (by the way she is a working RN) so the family eats what she eats and she eats healthy.
Don't fall for the excuse that you cannot sculpt your body into something great, but you have to be committed and focused. Your consistency and proper diet can carve you some amazing tones abs. (even if you have a c section scar)
Having a great supportive spouse that is a true partner, helps too.

And in both cases the wives have supportive partners who are committed to fitness as well....but if you have a husband that naturally has a high metabolism stays thin and can eat whatever...he more than likely is not going to succumb to your calorie counting dishes. I am not saying that it is impossible but Pilar’s lifestyle is not every woman’s reality!

-Pilar is divorced from Deion.
-Her lifestyle doesn't negate the fact that any women can become active and maintain their health. Her fitness grind can be applied to multiple women regardless of income. Because workouts are damn near free.
-a healthy man with a basic knowledge of reading a food label, understands there is more to what he eats than the calorie count.
Just because he has a fast metabolism or is a lean guy doesn't mean you cannot be in bad health. Your just thinner. Doesn't mean he can shotgun Big Macs everyday and not expect a few heart attacks down the line.
Health combined with fitness is the key.

-Again, my whole point from jump is that women, should, not adhere to the above statement, especially when it comes to health and fitness. It is undermines the efforts of the "average everyday working woman" and regulates her to a mindset that she cannot accomplish the extraordinary when it comes to her body.
-At the end of the day, we decide of our own free will to either eat better, get active or not do either. Those 1,000 things that just have to get done by 8pm, will still be there regardless and only the healthy road will ensure that you have enough energy to get it all done in the best equipped body possible.

I'm not completely clean yet. I've eliminated most junk food, sodas & candy (years ago), and fried foods (chicken, pork chops, fries, etc.). Started drinking more water, taking multivitamins and snack mostly on pretzels, fruits, plain yogurt, popcorn (not the buttered up crap, make it yourself and its a great, low cal snack), and even dry oatmeal (very filling and not bad IMO).
I don't really like to cook, but realize that's the only way I will completely transition.
I allow myself one day a week to eat what ever the hell I want all effin day. That is what keeps me sane. And even then I still try to moderate what I eat. Other than that it's vitamins and probiotics for breakfast and something healthy for dinner. I rarely eat lunch because I don't usually have time, I know that's unhealthy, meh. For dinners I'll eat either fish or poultry and a lot of vegetables. Sometimes sushi or ramen if I won't feel guilty about the noodles. Mushrooms are my fav so I eat a lot of those along with bok choy, spinach, some bell peppers, asparagus, garlic, spices, you name it. I love cooking when I'm not actually too exhausted to do it. For dessert sometimes I'll make a smoothie with flaxseed or eat healthy choice kettle corn popcorn. I hate eating healthy. Ive loved food since I was a kid. But I'm also incredibly vain and obsessed with keeping myself small so I gotta do what I gotta do. It works so no regrets.
Forgot to mention that I gave up soda and red meat about 4 years ago and haven't looked back since.
Favorite lunch is baked salmon with diced tomatoes. Takes about 24 minutes to make.
Snacks are avocado, cucumber, or boiled eggs. Sometimes I'll add nuts on the side. I always liked chips and salty snacks more than sweets so my snacks are still salty as opposed to fruit.
Crockpot Italian herb chicken. Pick your chicken pieces (dark or white), throw them in with tomato sauce and diced tomatoes and season to taste. You can use McCormick's Italian herb seasoning, or use your own (rosemary, parsely, garlic/garlic powder, red pepper, salt, etc.) Throw in some chopped spinach. Serve on top of spaghetti noodles.
Crockpot chilli. Ground turkey, fresh onion, three types of bean, diced tomatoes, season to taste.
Cheat with frozen pizza that you upgrade yourself. I've made a Digornio pepperoni and threw on diced tomatoes (can you see a pattern yet?), and chopped onion. I want to do it again and add mushrooms and spinach.
Salmon salad. It's like tuna salad but less or no mayonnaise and and you use canned salmon, not tuna. I'll do tuna salad and I'll do less mayonnaise and substitute with olive oil so it's not so dry.
I don't enjoy traditional breakfast foods but I did buy some oatmeal...I think omelets would be a great way to add in veggies (tomato, spinach, shrooms, onion, etc) so I am going to try to do that this week.
Green tea and water everyday.
My friend made a DELICIOUS homemade soup last week. Chicken broth, meatballs, noodles, onion, celery, bell pepper, tomatoes, potatoes, and seasoning. It was amazing.
I also suggest exploring stir fry and any other dishes that require multiple ingredients (Mexican food, casseroles, soups). These are great to go off of because I'm not a big fan of doing the shakes and stuff.
Half your plate should be covered with veggies. In the morning, eat a fruit and wait 40 minutes before you eat something else. Try vegetarian soups to get started.
Drink water and make sure you eat just about every color vegetable you can.
Any Tosca Reno book will help you get started. But Engine 2 book has some great recipes and Forks over Knives as well. Also great documentary to the FOK cookbook.
Somaya Reece has some great recipes on her site. Also YouTube has some good stuff.
But there is a national magazine, called Clean Eating. It can be found in damn near any Walmart, Target, or major bookstore in the country.
