Desiree Washington/Mike Tyson saga
Whatever happened to the woman who accused Mike Tyson of rape? Do you believe her story was credible or was she a scorned and bitter one night stand?
Definitely a scorned and bitter one night stand. Definitely.
I've always felt this way. What decent woman would go to a mans hotel room 3 am in the morning JUST to talk. Thats what the phone is for. She knew what was about to go down and I didnt buy her rape story then and I dont buy it now.
I think she may have been naive, and it went too far. Maybe she wanted to "mess around", and he didn't stop. I don't agree with the 3am theory. I've spent time with men visiting from out of town in hotel rooms and never had sex, unless that's what I'd planned to do. It does happen. They might want it, but that doesn't mean they have the right to disrespect and violate a woman - it's still not a freebie card. However, a guy like Mike Tyson, you can kinda tell something's gonna go down. Maybe she should have stuck with the phone conversation, but it's still no invitation to rape, no matter what anyone says.

She was NOT naive; this was the second time that she "accused" someone of rape, however, the first time she recanted. My cousin was in that pageant system and they were STRICT on those girls, no leaving, w/o a chaperone, no visitors w/o a chaperone, no anything without a chaperone. She said that all of the girls were trying to get with Mike and that he was minding his own business.

Well, in that case, I concur with the rest of y'all.
As a woman, we all have a gut instinct that lets us know when a situation just aint right. I too, have spent hours in a hotel room (or home) with someone I didnt know qutie well-alone, and nothing went down. But, I believe, that every man is different. You know what men are trustworthy just from the vibe, and your gut instinct.
I still feel like u run a tight risk if u set urself up in certain situations.
That wasa one of them. My mom says "aint nothing open past midnight but the legs". In some extent- this theory could be true.
It is a toss up for me, but I agree with the ladies ...you know @3 in the morning ain't nothing about to go on that is not sinister...in a room with a bed you either sleep or tapping.
At 3 AM, as a woman, you really have to evaluate the nature of your relationship to the man, the circumstances and the expectations of the visit. But even then, its just not smart because women are attacked by good acquaintances all the time.
Also... a 3 AM visit to the hotel room of any man who is known to have a long history of abuse toward women and a documented mental imbalance (for which he does not like to take his medication) is just not a good move.

Mike Tyson is an animal! He got what he deserved. He may not have raped her but he definitely abuses women so ... he reaped what he sowed.
I don't like Mike Tyson either but I never believed he raped Desiree Washington at all I just never bought her story. However he went to jail for rape if he didn't rape her he shouldn't have gone to jail for it period! I don't care what you think of him etc.
Now if it was beating Robin Givens then yes he should've been in jail for that but rape? No way! Especially when you factor in the fact that there were more credible cases that got tossed by the wayside for this one where's their justice?
I have nothing but disgust for women who cry "foul" they are just as contemptible as those who actually do rape. At the very least a switch should be taken to their crotches I hate women pulling this kind of crap it really hurts those who are actually credible.
It also sucks that this all went down here in Indianapolis so that also disappoints me no way was he ever going to get a fair trial. ....
