Are Melanesians (Fiji) "Black" People?

I was looking up the ethnic background of pro-golfer Vijay Singh, who is a Indian man born on the island of Fiji.
I looked at some pics of Fijians and they look like they could be my relatives, some of them...not the Indo-Fijians like Vijay but the indigenous Fijians...
I am aware that the islands are close to Australian Aborigines but according to DNA, they are not related to them nor Polynesians or Micronesians...so where did these kinky haired dark skinned people come from? The research on their origins is speculative at best.
They are some beautiful people and the islands look so lush!

I've been reading about Melanesians in researching my family history. The 'sub-saharan' genetic DNA is distributed throughout Melanesian and Austronesian populations stemming from eons ago. Melanesians are a mixture of several races, even among those who look to be 100% black.
There is a righteous scholar that has a website (can't think of it now) who traveled over there and talked to the natives - the dark 'black looking' people. Over the decades they've gone through genocide where the lighter race people have taken over - mainly Indonesians. The scholar says that they feel connected to Blacks world wide because they share the same plight.
On the other hand, I read on some sites that Micronesians, the black looking people in Micronesia with blonde hair...don't identify as Black. I guess the social history in that region has been different for them.
I know that Australoids, like the Aborigine of Australia and natives of Papau New Guinea and Vanuatu, also identify with Blacks worldwide because they also have going through heavy genocide at the hands of Whites, Chinese and Indonesians. They, too, have dark and broad features. All three groups descend from continental African sea farers who traveled there something like 30,000 years ago. I'm not sure if the modern day Aborigine evolved from them, or if the sea farers inbred with an already exisiting evolved populationg, but those three populations have genetic DNA links to SSA Africans, South Indians (Dravidian), and other Melenasian and Micronesian groups.

Melanesia (the Black islands of the South Pacific) has been described as the eastern flank of the African world, an expression of ages past when an uninterrupted belt of Black people stretched across Africa, Eurasia, Australia, Oceanica and ancient America. In 1545 Spain made a claim on New Guinea, the largest and most populous island in Melanesia. Indeed, New Guinea is the largest island in the world after Greenland. It is tremendously wealthy in mineral resources, including uranium, copper cobalt, silver, gold, manganese, iron and oil. In 1545 Spain made a claim on the island and called it Nueva Guinea because of the striking resemblance between Melanesians and West Africans. Other Melanesian islands include New Caledonia, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, New Ireland and New Britain.
Split into two by colonial design, New Guinea has until recently contained a racially homogeneous population of five to six million Africoid people. The eastern half of the island became independent in 1975 under the name of Papua New Guinea. In a 1976 interview, Foreign Minister Ben Tanggahma of Papua New Guinea insisted that:
"Africa is our motherland. All of the Black populations which settled in Asia over the hundreds of thousands of years, came undoubtedly from the African continent. In fact, the entire world was populated from Africa. Hence, we the Blacks in Asia and the Pacific today descend from proto-African peoples. We were linked to Africa in the past. We are linked to Africa in the present. We will be linked to Africa in the future."
The western half of New Guinea, however, along with a significant portion of the island's total population, has been seized by Indonesia. Indonesians generally have a condescending view of Melanesians and consider them their racial inferiors. Under Indonesian rule since 1963, the Melanesians of New Guinea, known as Kanaks, want their island to become an independent country run by and for Melanesians. Their struggle continues. Everyone has a bit of black in them. Arabs, Hispanic people. I once heard that there are three primary races, black, white, and asian, and everything else is just a mix of that.

They are a beautiful people. Scholars are still debating their origins!
My story...err, um theory :
Before the Great Continental Divide (or the Time of Pangaea), the original inhabitants of Earth, black people , migrated far and wide. The continents begin to divide. Thousands of years pass and many ethinicities are born due to climate change and other environmental factors. However, Australia and the Fiji Islands remain close in temperature to Africa. Therefore, those inhabitants retain their beautiful dark skin and supercurly hair.
Of course there are a great many other factors that my story leaves out but you must buy my soon to be released book to enjoy those tales!
Then the other earthly inhabitants start migrating and the Great Mixing of Gene Pools is started. But this is another story I'll save for another time.

Yeah, there are only three primary races. When they find a skeleton, they will be classified as such based on phenotypical things such as nasal cavity size, eye socket size, teeth shape, jaw bone length and such.
I am Melanesian and I consider myself to be of the black race. I have been told by Africans and African Americans alike that I wasn't black (I'm brown skinned) which confused me. Apparently I have to be a direct descendant from the African continent to identify as being black? News to me.
YES, IT IS CLEAR TO SEE THAT THE BLACK AFRICAN GENE IS THE DOMINANT ONE. BUT THERE ALSO MANY INDIANS, SOME WHITES FROM EUROPEAN N AUSTRALIA ORIGIN....IT'S A DIVERSE GROUP. WEST PAPUA IS STILL FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM..

4 PRIMARY RACES NOT 3. I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS ON HERE FOR YEARS WHENEVER LATIN/HISPANICS TRY TO CLASSIFY THEMSELVES AS A RACE. EVERY SUB RACE FALLS UNDER ONE OF THE 4 CATEGORY OF THE 4 MAJOR RACES.
BLACK--->DECENDANTS OF AFRICA--->WHEREVER YOU'RE FROM, AMERICA, EUROPE, CARIBBEAN, BRAZIL ETC.
WHITE/CAUCASIANS---> OF EUROPEAN DESCENDANTS AND WHERE EVER YOU'RE FROM, CANADA, AMERICA ETC.
INDIAN-->INDIGENOUS, PAKISTANI, AZTEC, MAYAN, IRAQUI, WHATEVER YOU WANNA CALL YOURSELF, YOU ARE OF THE INDIAN RACE.
ASIAN--->CHINESE, VIETNAMESE, KOREAN, PHILIPPINO ETC.
