I CARE. It matters to me that children are still being indoctrinated into a fake religion.
I remember what it was like to be a Catholic child and being taught that it was the ONLY true Christian religion; it was mortal sin to even step into a non-Catholic church.
I know a woman who, as a child, was taken to a relative's wedding in a Church of England. She would not sleep that night, and spent hours crying because she had committed a mortal sin... because if you die in a state of mortal sin, you go directly to hell. No child should be burdened with this kind of scaremongering.
The above is just one of the lesser abuses Catholic children have endured. I also know someone who was raped by two priests and physically abused by a nun. His hatred for religion in general and the Catholic church in particular knows no bounds. He is married but refuses to bring children into this world.

*le sigh*
Really, at this point you think it's going to matter if Jesus existed or not-to people that believe in an entity (god) they have never seen and have no proof exists?
It will never matter- because the religion runs on belief not proof.

I once believed in Santa, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny and the bogeyman.
Once, I also believed that Jesus was born in a stable and the evidence was confirmed by three kings bearing rich-gifts. I believed Dec 25 was the birthday of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ... only son of God Almighty who came to earth to forgive my sins... what sins I never really, REALLY understood since I didn't think what Adam and Eve did was that bad, and since I never really did anything that bad as a child except to fight with my siblings.
Re: The Empty Cross: Why Jesus Didn't Exist [Complete DVD Part 1 of 7]
^^and was it because you found proof Jesus didn't exist?
My point is.. Trying to show the truth to people, that believe there's a magic man in the sky they have never seen, by suggesting Jesus never existed, will most likely be ineffective.

Well, that's what clinched it for me.
A trusted friend of many years dedicated 25 years of his life to research ... this was BEFORE the internet. He did not say Jesus didn't exist, he simply said he could not FIND any evidence that Jesus had existed. This set me thinking .. because prior to that, I didn't question the existence of Jesus, I had come to decide he was just a MAN, not a Messiah.
My friend's revelation was the start of my research, and everything pointed to the fact that Jesus did not exist. Since Jesus represented the core of Christianity, the conclusion was obvious.
I was not the first person to come to this conclusion and clearly ... when there are so many people who were once pastors/clergy who have now conceded to the niggling doubts, I certainly won't be the last.
The world can only gain from people directing their focus, energy and money to other aspects of life... such as medical research. I saw something yesterday that indicated that if all religions were subject to tax, there would be enough money to eradicate world hunger. It would also make rogue ministers accountable for the money they receive fraudulently from sheep. What I can't stand is the fact that the most vulnerable will donate what money they cannot afford to lose, for the belief of an afterlife or the healing of their sick baby. Many of them are parting with retirement funds. It's a disgusting scam, and I will do anything to get people to rethink their beliefs.

What's up with you? You always seem to find this forum utterly boring and have nothing but contemptuous, sarcastic, vacant comments. You're a waste of space, and I should have known better than to give you the time of day.
I don't understand why you bother to even read my threads. See my name? Avoid my threads and those of anyone else you find beneath your arrogant, narcissistic ego.

SMH
Actually, YOU should take your own advice!! Once again you cannot admit you are wrong. You just go On and on and on..
How are you NOT EMBARRASSED?!
The big picture, trying to convince Christians Jesus never existed means squat! CHRISTIANS don't go by proof, they go by BELIEF. They don't need proof of Jesus's make-believe dad, and by suggesting Jesus is fake will convince them of what?
Really.. You're arguing this point with ME?

LOL
Are you that thick that you don't know that there are people who were once devout Christians, but who have the backbone to admit they no longer believe Jesus even existed?
How are you not embarrassed at revealing how dense you are ... to the point that you cannot get the basic concept of belief, doubt, then total lack of belief?
Go and get some sunshine or something in your life. GEEZ.

DANG!
GOOD GRIEF..( I don't CUSS)
Again, so many words that amount to a pile of jibberish and assumptions to cover your inability to grasp a concept and stick to the point.
You're just a little behind. Give it some time...you'll catch up. (take a B12)
Btw-you are aware that CHRISTians follow Jesus CHRIST?
I'm results oriented, I know by being raised in a religious environment... No one is going to believe anything negative about Jesus, when they believe his "Daddy" is REAL.
There is already a name for those people- Jews.
at the ridiculousness of you trying to convince BELIEVERS, that the" make-believe man in the sky" son isn't real.

OH, and you think you're the only one qualified to have an opinion because you had a religious background? I spent several years in a Catholic boarding school, and let me tell you, the indoctrination was relentless. I had a friend (day scholar) who felt the calling so strongly she ditched a serious boyfriend to become a nun. Didn't take her long to become a sceptic ... and she removed herself from that environment and came back to the land of the free, and free-thinkers.
You don't seem to be able to grasp the concept of people who THINK, and then change their minds. Not everyone is locked into indoctrination forever. Now, YOU may not have come across these kinds of people... so you need to get out more and meet people who are not one dimensional.

Untold, trolling is all that font can do... same in other forums. It'll just go on and on for attention as long as you shine a light on its troll face. It lives for it. Close its basement door again.

You are as ridiculous as the religious people who refuse to listen to reason, your goal is to prove you are right.
Again, you'd be better off to talk less and listen or read more. You ASSume quite a bit, just like religious people. Take a few deep breaths and READ what I wrote.
My whole point was it doesn't matter if Jesus was real or not, because it can never be proven, only suggested. These lunatics believe in an INVISIBLE "Man-God" you go ahead and awaken them by suggesting his "son" may not have existed ,if it makes you feel like a free-thinker.
