'Ball up them fists!' Outrage over video showing mother encouraging her small children to fight as they scream for it to stop

When her children began to fight, this mother in St Louis, Missouri, didn't pull them apart and stop them.

Instead, she yells at them to fight harder. As one of the children is pummeled by the other, she doesn't step in.

'Ya'll better ball up some fists, she encourages. Hit back! Y'all better hit back!' the mother says as her children begin to scream.

The mother, who was not identified, posted the disturbing video of the fight on Facebook. An acquaintance saw it and showed the footage to local TV station KTVI.
'It’s just sickening and I feel like there should be some kind of criminal action taken,' the informant, who was not named, told the news channel.

'I couldn’t even watch the whole video. I had to stop it and look again. It was sad.'
The woman said the mother, whom she knows through her child's school, appeared to be training the very young children for fighting when they get older.

A child psychologist who saw the clip was stunned.


Reported: KTVI, which obtained a copy of the video, turned over footage to the Missouri Department of Social Services



No help: The mother offered no help or sympathy to the girl who was being hurt. She only yelled at her to fight back

'That’s pretty overwhelming. Those are small children that really don’t even understand what is going on. I mean one child is screaming and the other child continues to go after her. I mean what is going on here?' asked a horrified Dr Russell Hyken, who was interviewed by KTVI.

The mother seems to be presiding over a toddler fight club and continues to encourage the violence between the children, even when one stands on top of the other and hits her with her fist.

'Oh we got some action! 'We got some action!' the mother can be heard gleefully saying as the fight breaks out.

She laughs as she watches the two youngster scream and cry.

KTVI presented the video to the Missouri Department of Social Service, though a spokeswoman refused to comment, saying privacy laws prevent the agency from talking about child welfare investigations.

Dr Hyken said authorities need to get involved with the situation.

'I think it is something that they at least need to be looking at... as a therapist, and a family therapist at that, I’m pretty concerned the parents are encouraging violence and putting their kids in a physically abusive situation,' he said.

The video is on the link. I didn't want to post it. People sit around and wonder what is wrong with some young people today. This right here is yet another example of how some parents are worthless and shouldn't have kids. She's sitting there laughing and giggling. So disgusting.

It's one thing to encourage your child to stick up for themselves, but it's another to encourage your children to hit and abuse each other like that. Those poor babies were obviously in pain.

I wondered why she didn't call the police first, too, but the reporter said DSS is in possession of the tape and charges have not been brought forth yet. Maybe the woman thought getting a tv station involved, DSS would be pressured to do something about it.

By alerting a TV station, the cops can't sweep this under the rug or let it fade away quietly. The friend did the right thing.

People really need to stop with that useless statement. A license can not monitor people's everyday behavior. It doesn't work with a driver's license, marriage license or even a medical license. People have to monitor themselves.

Just because someone is infertile doesn't mean they would necessarily be great parents. No one knows exactly how they will parent until they actually become parents.
