I live in South Florida and I am all too familiar with this subject. It's really funny, but not a lot of people understand how colonialism really mind fu*ked Latin America (just like every where else). Not only is there an issue with Black Americans but there are huge issues with race and class that go unaddressed. Thankfully, not all hispanics are like this so it sucks that they get swept up in this generalization. But for the ones that fall in this category of identifying more with whites.... trust me they get a HUGE wake up call when they come here and attitudes change to a degree.

A good example is how a lot of Dominicans classify themselves as "Indio" (because it's not good to be called "negro") they get here and learn real quick that Indio=nothing and your ass is Black.

I already knew this from living in California.

Whites do NOT want to live next door to latinos. I've had two black couples tell me that when they moved into their new homes, their white neighbors made it clear they were HAPPY they were BLACK.

No one wants to live around latinos, even the 3rd or 4th generation hispanics don't want to live next to illegals.

Probably longterm old school whites. One thing about southern whites is for the most part they have an "understanding" with blacks that was established during the Jim Crow era and beyond.

Whites up north have no understanding and don't want to. It will be whites from the northern or eastern cities that will ask blacks stupid ass questions moreso than whites from the southern states.

Latinos are considered the scum of this earth in america they should be begging us to progress...and i've never felt a connection with them either and until that whole zimmerman idiot they havn't even crossed my mind. Anytime race comes up it's either black or white people barely mention hispanics unless it's about immigration laws.

I remember my black grandparents hired a maid for their home and she was a hispanic lady and I was there to see what she was about...and honey the look she had on her face when my grandparents opened that door! She asked if she had the right address and the right family...yes bish you did! now clean that damn toilet and straighten up my grandmother's church hats! she didnt last long...ol racists whore...i bet she went to a white family and was just kissing ass and getting paid less!

In cali I notice the divide more with latinos/blacks compared to NYC....its usually them la raza fools spitting all that hatred!

They forget that it was our ancestors/grandparents and etc that made it easier for THEM to come to this country and have some rights...just as history repeats itself...blacks do all the hard work build this country from the ground up and still cant get no fckin respect! sometimes i just want to walk around with a black leather glove on and slap the hell outta people

Some of you guys are a bunch of blind sheep and just cosign every single "survey" that is out there without CAREFULLY AND RATIONALLY thinking about what you are reading.

You would think someone in here would tell another person that they should take it with a grain of salt because its a survey and not representative of a whole group of people.

I would guarantee my income that half the people in here did not fully read the article. Its kind of sad that people are just blindly believing this.

If any numbers like that were accurate it would mainly be from the older generation of latinos(obviously) because despite what most people say the elder generation of most ethnicities are the ones that have misguided views.

But typically like expected people are going to overblow this whole situation.

I go to community college and I do not see this type of divide between blacks and latinos and definitely do not see the latinos my age just blindly kissing up to white people.
