im working on my green. its very analytical and people who don't have patience for process don't do well with it. if you're going into project management it's a must.

Is it expensive?

No but most companies will do tuition reimbursement.

I was about to train with an outside company (GE Finance) and their finance department went under. Now I am upset. I did not know you can take it as a college course.

In technology and construction I believe PMP is the standard but all will be in demand in the future.

If you have some background it is helpful. Most companies have a way that they work within their PM group. PMP is taught on the college level. Six Sigma is taught at motorola university and a few other places. My girlfriend took her tax return and paid for hers. She's not certified yet, because she didn't do her project. But overall, the premise is a good one.

I however, work for a company that only utilizes part of six sigma and it's not practiced lower than middle management or project. It's frustrating when you're trying to explain the concept and your own manager can't follow along.

We use Six Sigma at my company. It is actually a requirement in our Finance function...can't get promoted past a certain point without it.

I was certified w/ GB back in 2004 and don't remember a damn thing.

My mom took this class for management her company paid for it. she says it was hard as hell, but it looks great on your resume
