You know.. somebody I was sitting behind also said that it was a set up. Both artists are equally great. Sometimes singing to tracks places limitations on the artist, and I can imagine Karen just singing her 3 songs, and hitting it.

Re: Cocky Gospel Singers
I have seen a lot of Gospel artists in person and the ONLY person to act like they were on a pedestal that TAIN'T NOBODY PUT THEM ON was MARVIN SAPP!! HANDS DOWN THE MOST COCKIEST PERSON IN THE GOSPEL INDUSTRY!!!!!!! We saw him in concert down on 125th St in NY at an outdoor concert in front of the Adam Clayton Powell Bldg, and after the concert we went around the back and he was talking to one of the workers backstage and we were standing DIRECTLY in front of him with a gate separating us. My godsister started saying his name and he didn't even acknowledge her or us - so I said, "let's go he ain all that for me to be just calling his name and we're standing this close to him" - we walked away. My mom happened to run into him on the other side of the building and she asked if I could take a picture with him celebrating my 20th birthday and he was like, "make it quick" - when she told me later that he said that I was like, 'ma you coulda just said, forget it, go on bout yo business'
Now DOWN TO EARTH gospel artists, the ones who when they say "they love the youth" they mean it???
Hezekiah Walker - stopped and took pics with us and told us to make crazy faces, asked us what church we were apart of and everything - he was like, 'I love you guys!'
Tye Tribbett - love the dude to death (wish all this mess wasn't going on with him, but oh well) we saw him a few times so when he saw us again at one of his concerts he remembered us and it was a fun experience - got pics with him too.
Deitrick Haddon - love, love, love DD!! He ministered in concert about how he was getting ready to give up and how being a PK is hard b/c you're always on the front line, and I related so well b/c I'm a PK too and when he started singing "Don't Wanna Let You Go", he just got in the spirit and got down on his stomach and pointed to me and my sisters and said, "hold on my sisters" and we just broke down (we were standing in front of the stage) then after the concert, he threw me his towel!!!!! I sent him a message on MySpace when I got home and he responded and was so encouraging and even said he was going to listen to the song I had written! Love him to pieces!
Vickie Winans - Hilarious and super nice
Israel & New Breed - great people
Fred Hammond - always, always nice
PamKenyon Donald
Joann Rosaio
21:03
Bryan Pratt & Freddie P (BGVs for Radical for Christ)
J Moss - called in at the radio show and spoke to him on the phone! HILARIOUS! then when I saw him in concert I was wearing his t-shirt, I sent him a pic on MySpace and he sent me free stuff!!!!

Yea, Marvin Sapp is a trip... Although my experience was different, I did see him skirt chasing at GMWA, but all the straight men do that.

I'm so glad you have had more positive experiences than negative ones with gospel singers. Stay in prayer so that you will be an example of humility and holiness when God opens doors for you. Blessing to you and your music ministry.

With all due respect but, I think the same can be said for many posters in this thread who have had positive experiences with gospel singers. Many Blessings to you.

I know this is true b/c I know John P.Kee, and saw him and VBA many years ago in philly, and she was mad b/c he took me and my friend out to eat after the concert, so she went back to the hotel, like a baby. he told us she was mad, but we went anyway. he and I discussed our mutual heart for ministry, and some other things. I liked him, but she (VBA) was acting like she owned him. he took her some roast chicken to the hotel to make up.
