He's now the pastor of Rev. Clay Evans church. I don't know if he's fully taken over the church yet. I think the name of the church is Fellowship Baptist Church. I think there were some issues when Evans came out of retirement. I haven't heard him preach since the first time he began pastoring, so this is somewhat interesting.

I used to be a member of this church before I left Chicago about 5 years ago. I don't know anything about this new pastor but some have said that he is pretty good. A lot of older members have left the church and I noticed quite a few of the musicans have left also. He is very different from Rev Evans...but that is because he is young. Young preachers usually have a young congregation. When I go home in a couple of months...attending The Ship will be one of my top priorities. I have to check him out for myself.
I wonder if they still sing What a Fellowship Intro...I love that song *sigh*
even though dont know much about him the only thing better than an anointed preacher in the pulpit is a funny anointed preacher in the pulpit
I could sit down and play him jumping, striking, and kickin all day
lol @ his sweatsuit

I love Rev. Jenkins...
He's only going to continue to grow as a phenomenal preacher. Of course people have left because sad to say that's how churches become over time...I mean ya'll saw what happened with the likes of the PJB thread...change brought about contempt.
His ministry isn't a problem...it was just the change. He lives and breathes the word of God and he doesn't cater to folks who have been siting in the church for thirty years already...and I mean that would make sense since they think they are holier than thou anyways. Why not concentrate on bringing new souls? Anyways...all that to say, he's a great preacher, teacher, and pastor.

Is this why Rev. Clay Evans came out of retirement for a minute..because people were leaving?

It depends on when you're talking about...
Evans phased in Jenkins before he really "stepped" down. So even though Jenkins was in the pulpit, Evans hadn't stepped down yet...he was just taking the load off...and then because of health problems Evans had Jenkins stepped up more...but you cannot keep Evans down...anyone who knows that man knows that...lol...so he is still in control of Fellowship...lol

I knew Evans brought Jenkins in and was transitioning him in slowly. Evans had cancer, but I can't remember if it was prostate cancer. I do distinctly remember something happening once when Evans came back, I just can't remember right now.
