What is the difference a spiritual person and christian person
They both are saved by the blood of jesus
but one call itself spiritual rather than a christain
why? What is the difference between the two?
Re: What is the difference a spiritual person and christian person
Spirituality has NOTHING to do with Christianity. Or shall I say it's not limited to Christianity....
One can be spiritual without subscribing to one religious belief...
One can be from the Islamic, Jewish, Sikh, Hindu persuasion and be spiritual...or follow those paths...been raised in those paths...believe in ALL those paths...
Re: What is the difference a spiritual person and christian person
The way I identify myself, the better question would be what is the difference between a spiritual Christian person and someone who is religious (overall, not just limited to identifying as a Christian).
I may come back later and give my take on it, if you don't get what you're looking for.

But the OP is assuming that the people in question are both Saved, so surely they must believe in what you have identified they don't? Otherwise how can they be Saved?
Re: What is the difference a spiritual person and christian person
A Christian believes in the humanity and divinity of Jesus. A Christian believes in the birth, life, death, and resurrection. A spiritual person doesn't necessarily accept every tenet of the Christian faith. A spiritual person may be on a search into the meaning of life & accepts New Age practices.

She said they were saved because that is what she believes. Ya dig.

But the question still stands either way. Even if she believes them to be saved, how can this hypothetical person who identifies as being spiritual rather than Christian, be saved without having a basis of faith in what you mentioned they don't. So...

This is where I feel the question isn't totally clear, but I can hazard a guess what is trying to be got at.

Well if you're saved and covered by the blood of Jesus as you say, then it stands to reason that you'd be a Christian (but not necesarily considering yourself religious) and presumably (come to) have a relationship with Jesus, your Father, the Holy Spirit..is this where the 'being spiritual' part comes in that you are thinking of?
Otherwise I really don't understand what you are getting at..
And a title is just that..a title. It's what you do when you are wearing that title that counts..
---------------------------------------------
Are you referring to those people that go around saying 'oh I'm not religious (Christian in this case), I'm spiritual'...?

There really isn't and shouldn't be a difference. Being a Christian, saved by the blood of Jesus is spiritual. I know now-a-days, people and secularists view them different. You have people that adhere to the "works" or religious elements of Christianity. Going to church, doing works...but somehow miss having a true spiritual walk with Christ.
Having a relationship with Jesus Christ is what being a Christian is about and is paramount to our walk. The two really can't be (and shouldn't be) separated.

If a spiritual person does not believe in the concept of "being saved" then they won't "be saved". Being saved is a Christian belief. Therefore whether or not a person will be saved is subjective and based on individual perspective. A belief is not a fact since it is subjective. Therefore it holds no influence over those who don't believe in it.
