Hypocrisy - Do our lives reflect the Savior we profess to follow?

AN AMAZING FACT: A police chief in the Seattle area was arrested and sentenced to several years in prison for swindling disabled citizens of their social security money, the very people he was paid to protect!
Police chief Charles Allen of Granite Falls, Washington, was sentenced to five years in prison for embezzling money from disabled citizens. The chief used the label of a non-profit agency, allegedly helping manage finances for citizens in need. But rather than assisting his clients in making the best use of their funds, Allen admitted to unlawfully taking up to $14,000 for himself on a monthly basis, for a total of more than $600,000 over several years.
A special assistant attorney called Allen’s deed an “act of extreme hypocrisy.” As a police chief, his duty was to protect the citizens of his city, but instead the city had to step in and protect citizens from him. The chief knew that his clients were mentally and physically unable to manage their funds for themselves, yet he did not hesitate to steal from their small monthly checks.
It is easy to recognize the abhorrence of Allen’s actions. Jesus clearly taught His followers not to follow in the paths of hypocrites who “say, and do not do,” and Allen’s crime is a clear example of such hypocrisy. But we might find ourselves sliding into hypocrisy on a smaller level. A Christian life is more than becoming a part of Christian subculture and living under a Christian label. Do our lives reflect the Savior we profess to follow? Do our words and attitudes to others speak of God’s love?
KEY BIBLE TEXTS
Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

Wow! You looked up the scriptures. I am shocked! LOL!
Anyway, joking aside, that Bible passage actually relates to the article posted. Thanks for sticking to the topic and contributing to the prayer and bible study forum.
Have a blessed day. Shalom!

That verse deserves deep meditation.
Actually I had no idea that you attended many years of Christian school and that you studied theology at a Christian university. All I knew was that you professed to once being a devout Christian but you abandoned your faith in God and is now a devout atheist and/or humanist.
That verse in Matthew 7 and all of God's word deserve deep meditation. I hope that one day you will find your way back to God and start to meditate on his word. In the meantime, I will continue to pray for you.

So, I would like to answer the question... if that's ok.
NO!!! I fall short EVERY single day BUT I'm ever striving to walk in God's purpose for me. Thanks to his grace and mercy I start anew each day.
No need to apologize. Feel free to post as you wish. You are more than welcome to freely express your views.
We are still fallible human beings and will always fall short of the glory of God. However, God's forgiveness, mercy and grace is sufficient to save us. The Bible tells us in James 4 that if we draw near to God he will draw near to us and really that is all we can do as we take up our cross and follow the Lord on the narrow path on a daily basis.
Keep on striving each day to walk in God's purpose for you life.

Thank you, and I hope that one day you will find your way back from the supernatural to the natural, and start to meditate with enlightened reason on our natural connections to one another and the universe. In the meantime, I will continue to do things that actually make a difference in the world.
