FORUM RULES
Lipstick Alley (LSA) welcomes members of all races and genders. We are an adult community whose discussions cover a broad range of topics. We expect that the members of this forum will conduct themselves in a mature and positive way and abide by all the rules and policies detailed below.
PRIVACY
Your privacy on this site is very important to LSA. We don’t collect any personally identifiable information about you such as name, address, or phone number when you visit this forum.
We keep track of the IP address you use to register for membership and each post you create on the forum. IP addresses are only referenced when we are alerted of suspicious behavior on the forums.
We use cookies to help prevent the creation of multiple accounts by one user, and to track multiple logins from different usernames on the same computer.
We strictly prohibit the release in this community of the personal information of any member including, but not limited to:
Personal photographs, including photographs of family members and photographs that have been altered in an attempt to conceal the fact that it is a picture of a member of this community. If the photograph has been released on another forum, you must get permission from the member here before posting it on this forum. We realize that on occasion a member of this community may have the opportunity to be photographed with a celebrity or at a celebrity event. If any resulting pictures are posted here we would not consider it a violation of this rule unless forum members refer to the person in the photo by their LSA screen name. We will not remove photos of members who join the forum after their pictures are posted, or who join the forum for the sole purpose of requesting that their photos be removed.
Revealing names, addresses and phone numbers, including the release of partial information. For example, a street name but not the house number or the first name but not the surname of a board member. Posting a current news article that happens to include the real name of a LSA member does not violate this rule unless the board member’s comments include references to the listed members LSA screen name.
Releasing information regarding the profession or place of employment of any forum member without their consent.
Any member who complains of being violated must be prepared to provide proof of the violation. Any member found to have violated these rules will be permanently banned from LSA.
Any member who continually threatens to “out” other members will be warned by the moderators or administrators. If the threats continue after repeated warnings the member’s posting privileges will be permanently suspended.
YOUR ACCOUNT
You must use a valid email account during registration, otherwise you will not receive the validation email we send and will not be able to activate your account.
New members must be at least 21 years old. Members under the age of 21 can join only if they are invited by a current member. This rule does not apply to those members who were under the age of 21 when this rule was created (April 22, 2007).
Each member is allowed one login account. If you have forgotten your log in details do not create a new account. Click on the 'Forgot Your Password' link on any page that requires you to fill in your password. This will bring up a page where you should enter your registered email address, and an email will be sent to that address instantly, with instructions for resetting your password.
We use cookies to track multiple username logins or multiple registration attempts from the same computer. It became necessary to install such software because of the number of community members who created multiple accounts for the sole purpose of trolling on the forums. We understand that there are instances where the trigger of this alarm does not necessarily mean a member is up to mischief. There may be family members or co-workers accessing LSA from the same computer. We do not expect explanations from you if your username appears in this forum. We leave it up to the community members to determine for themselves whether or not the secondary accounts were created to cause mischief or are legitimate.
Usernames must not include any profanity, sexual references or racial slurs. If you want to change your username, you can purchase a new username at the LSA Mart (http://lipstickalley.com/vbplaza.php). If you have over 1,000 posts you can change your username in the User CP.
You must have at least 50 posts before you can use the private message system.
Requests to delete your account will not be honored, please don’t ask. If at some point you feel LSA is no longer the community for you, simply stop visiting.
All information, data, text, software, music, sound, photographs, graphics, video, messages or other materials ("Content"), whether publicly posted or privately transmitted, are the sole responsibility of the person from which such Content originated. LSA does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity or quality of such Content.
AVATARS, SIGNATURES AND PROFILE PICTURES
Images of sexual activity and genitals, specifically, a penis, vagina, breast or anus, is prohibited in profile pictures, signatures and avatars. Racially offensive images are also prohibited. If it’s an image of something that you would be uncomfortable viewing at work, don’t use it in your signature or avatar. You can only use a custom Avatar if you purchase it with points from the LSA Mart (http://www.lipstickalley.com/vbplaza.php).
You must have 150 forum posts before you can include hyperlinks in your signature. Please do not blatantly "advertise" other websites in your signature. We allow non-commercial links to other people's personal websites in sigs, but please do not beg people to click on your link, make it huge and/or flashing, or otherwise be obnoxious. If you turn your signature into an advertisement, we will ask you to change it.
If you violate these rules an administrator or moderator will edit your signature or avatar without notice.
FORUM POSTING RULES
To gain access to LSA’s private forums you must meet the following requirements:
The Back Alley – 25 posts
Porn Forum – 100 posts and a member for at least 7 days
Celebrity Gossip Forum – 100 posts and 30 days
We will not honor requests to delete or edit old posts or threads.
Lurk before posting so you can get a feel for each forum and what is and is not acceptable there. Post your message in the appropriate forum. Resist the temptation to post irrelevant topics on an inappropriate forum to achieve a wider audience. Moderators may move your post if it is more relevant to another forum.
You need to have been a member for 30 days and have 25 posts before you can use the anonymous posting function.
You need 25 posts before you can create new topics. Before starting a new thread, please search to see if there already is a topic discussing the same thing. Duplicate threads will be merged. Also, please make sure your thread title accurately reflects what the thread is about. Do not start threads with the URL in the header.
Multiple or repeated posting of senseless comments in order to increase your post count is not allowed.
Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and private message system to spam other members. You cannot post any affiliate or referral links, or post anything asking for a referral. Such posts will be removed.
Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.
Cross-Posting is not allowed. Cross-posting refers to posting duplicate threads or posts in multiple forums.
You may not post on behalf of any banned member in any public manner. This includes all forums, private messages, signatures, and e-mail features.
You may not post words or URLs that are censored by adding spaces, dots, or substituting characters; or by any other means in an attempt to defeat any censors put in place by LSA. Please contact us if you feel a word or URL is unjustly censored.
Do not threaten harm or wish death on another poster.
Racist remarks and racial or homophobic slurs directed at another forum member is not allowed.
Healthy debate is encouraged. If you disagree with a member, please try to do so without attacking them personally. If you find posts from a particular member to be intolerable, add that member to your ignore list. If there is a particular thread that you find intolerable, use the forum’s “ignore thread” feature that’s found under the “Thread Tools” link. If a disagreement evolves into flaming or beefing, please try to resolve it via email or personal message. If you cannot resolve it, add the member to your ignore list.
Moderators may use their discretion to move an entire discussion to The Pit or split any discussion that contains flaming posts by creating a separate thread for the beefing posters in The Pit.
Keep all flame wars in The Pit.
SPECIFIC LSA FORUMS
The Pit
The privacy rules still apply here. No photos, names (including family members), addresses, phone numbers, or work information is to be released about any member in this forum.
If you decide to go to war with another board member, don’t complain about any profane names you are called or any other ugly comments. Don’t complain about any mock photos, body parts, caricatures or cartoons that are posted to portray you. Don’t contact the moderators or administrators by personal message or email regarding anything posted in this forum. If you feel your privacy is being violated, click the “report post” button.
If you “call out” a board member and they don’t respond within 24 hours of your post, the beef is dead. Continuing to throw flames will be considered harassment and result in a warning from a moderator. If you continue after being warned your posting privileges will be suspended.
The Celebrity Gossip Forum
Anonymous posting is allowed in the Celebrity Gossip forum for posters who have at least 25 posts. The anonymous posting feature is for posting gossip only. Any other use of the feature, including posting news articles, commentary/opinion, topics that belong in other forums, using the feature to make it appear as if several people are having a conversation when it's just one person, and beefing with other posters, will cause your identity to be revealed or the post to be deleted.
If you are associated with a local, national or international celebrity and find certain discussions of that celebrity to be objectionable, please don’t ask us to delete or edit the discussion. We won’t honor the request.
The Sex/Porn Forums
We understand that some board members may find the discussions in the Sex/Porn forums to be offensive. We remind those members that this is an adult community. The discussion of sex and porn is segregated into dedicated forums so that those members who don’t want to be subjected to it can simply choose to not visit those forums.
You can exclude a particular forum from viewing by following these steps:
- Login to your User CP.
- Select “edit options.”
- Find the “Forums To Exclude From View” section under “Miscellaneous Options.”
- Hold the control key down on your keyboard and select which forums you don’t want to see.
The Porn forum is the only forum where nude photos of non-celebrities are allowed.
RESPECT THE MODERATORS
The moderators are here to keep the forums sane. Please don’t harass or intentionally annoy them. If they ask you to do something, please do it. Publicly attacking any moderator will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with a particular moderator please discuss this with them via email or personal message. If the problem cannot be resolved, contact an administrator.
Although the administrators and moderators of LSA will make every attempt to enforce these rule, it is impossible for us to read every post. If you see a post that you think requires our attention, click the “report post” button and we will review it.
Please note that LSA will, from time to time, make changes to these rules without notice to reflect current climates within the Community. Additionally, every single issue that might possible arise would be impossible to address within these guidelines. Therefore, just because a certain issue isn't raised here, doesn't mean it will be allowed (or disallowed, for that matter) within the Community.
