Angie is very cute.
Shoo If he liked it Good ......Angie inspired and helped him cultivate some amazing music ... She was his MUSE.
She should rock short hair more often it really brings out her features. She pulled him because she's beautiful an has confidence an seems to be more then just looks. Big chicks can pull cute dudes. Its all about confidence.
I know Michael E. Archer aka D'Angelo, personally.
He is a church boy from the country part of Richmond, VA. Church boys are often conflicted between the spiritual and secular world, especially if they possess a talent in singing/playing an instrument.
That said, Mike was trying to get put on in the early 90s. He wasn't the slim and trim D'Angelo we say during his Voodoo Days.. He was a stocky 5'7" church boy who could sing, but was shy and was not confident enough in himself. He was cute, don't get me wrong, but in 92, 93... he was stocky....
As another poster stated on here in another thread, if you ggo to Richmond, you are bound to see D'Angelo look alikes, they are just chunkier versions.
Anyway, D'Angelo finally got put on and was still apprehensive about his new found fame because his grounding in church. When I say he was a church boy, I mean a church boy. Didn't even see the potential fineness he possessed. He's shy and quiet.... and stubborn. You will not make him do something.
Takes a lot for him to do something and don't dare try to force him to do something when you want it done. You'd probably have a better chance at shaking hands with a rabid pit bull than forcing this man to do what you want to do. This is the main reason for his hiatus. He was conflicted with what the industry wanted him to be and his church upbringing.
He wasn't used to ladies throwing panties and pussy at him. He didn't know what to do with himself. That's part of how Angie was able to book him. She saw how fine he was, other ladies saw how fine he was... but Mike didn't know how fine he was.
He is very down to earth. Very. He doesn't have a problem with the big girls either. If he was just regular Mike Archer working at the Wawa on Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond, chances are, he'd be with a thickie or a chunkie.
It's Hollywood that has a problem with big girls.
Anyway, Mike is working on some new stuff as we speak. He is being channeled by the greats and I think you can't rush genius. The hiatus was needed, to help fans realize what music has been missing.
We just hope that he realizes the talent with which he has been truly blessed, he does not waste. He is a fickle somebody. A sweetheart, but fickle, lol.
I've been praying for him for mental strength to endure and I believe now that he's older and a little wiser, he will no longer succumb to industry pressures and take a self-imposed hiatus.
He is what will probably save the state of music (I know that's a huge leap to say that) but there are those once in a lifetime people who grace the earth with unbelievable talent and waste it because they don't realize and appreciate their greatness.
I think with his being able to self-reflect and see that God didn't send him here to die like those before him before their time, that he will carry that torch for years to come.
But we shall see...
Pray for D'Angelo y'all (I don't mean pray like something is wrong, just pray that he can endure what's to come and that God give him strength)
