He took our son on their usual Saturday adventure today and look at what they returned with *photo attached*
I told him he should've called me and told me first but he doesn't think its a big deal. His defense is "oh well it could've been worse. he really wanted a snake." Whatever. My son is fascinated with reptiles and I support that but he's not responsible enough for a pet like this at his age. Plus I'm scared of it. Lol.
Am I making a big thing out of nothing or do I have the right to be upset?
I have had this issue before. Hubby took the boys out for a guy day and returned with a pet rabbit. Hubby took the boys fishing before and returned with a pet turtle. Hubby took the boys to the pet store and returned with a cute little oscar fish that grew to be the size of my head.
In the beginning they promised to take care of the pets and honestly at first they usually do. But after the "newness" wears off who was left changing aquarium water and cage litter? Me. Eventually all three of those pets got re-homed.
oh I've made it clear that I want no parts of that thing but I already know how this is going to pan out. I'm going to be expected to feed it, clean the tank and whatever else it requires because my son will lose interest (he's only 8) and my husband will simply forget it even exists. We've been thru this before.
