Karla comes from a family with money. Her dad came to this country with 20 dollars and worked hard. Years later he bought the company that refused to hire him at one point. She's in school, making money from her blog (and the opportunities) and her parents help her out still. For example: Her dad hired her to furnish his new house. She also has an eye for interior decorating.
My comment had nothing to do with race. But if you want to interpret it that way, thats your problem.

I wasn't being sensitive. I said I found your comment to be annoying and asked you a question about it. I could see if I was typing in all caps and getting angry or something - so I have no idea where you're getting that from. I just didn't realize how you could tell a woman is kept/sponsored from a picture of a purse, coat and heels. What's the difference between assuming a woman is sponsored from looking at a photograph and me assuming you're saying it because of her race? Nothing much.
No, I don't think it would be okay to assume a white or any other race was kept/sponsored from a photo. I would've asked you the same thing. Especially if you said it about Karla since I love her.
I've been looking for a vintage fashion blogger of color for a long time, but haven't had much luck. Any recommendations?
I've never seen anyone of any other chick of any race do vintage like Karla and I've been following fashion blogs since 2008. Here's one I know off hand.
There is Wheredidugetthat.com (she's very flowerchild meets hobo chic) Not the best, but sometimes she nails it. She has a problem with mixing the right pieces with the wrong thing though. You have to scroll quite a bit til you find something that's just right, but I think her blog is worth a peek.
i like Karen (where did you get that)
I don't necessarily like her style all the time and she's on this whole brogue platform shoe thing that I hate BUT she does have some nice pieces and I just love her layout.
I also like the fact that when i first followed her she had a full time job and did the blog pt but was able to grow her blog into what it is now and all of her income is generated from that.
