Has anyone ever heard of an IRA or retirement plan were you have to contribute x amount of dollars each month. If you don't your bank can close your account and take your money?
I set up an IRA when I was 17 and I put down $50. I was told I needed to contribute each month. I was like good! Just link it up to my online account and I can put like $10 in there each month. I thought it was a great way to force myself to save.
They never hooked it up online, I forgot about it and went to college.
Now I have saved money and want to open up an IRA and I remembered this account.lol.
The money is either gone or has been growing.
Just want to know that it is called before I call and scream at Bank of America!
Or they closed the account. Just call and have someone in customer service look it up. It could be archived or depending how long it has been, banks are regulated to send abandoned accounts to the state. Every state has a lost and found link. See whether you are in there.
