But why is she doing this? What is her point? And who on Twitter said it was good? Blacks or whites?

I've seen both Black and White people tweet good things about it, mostly that it's a good conversation starter. A lot of other white people are bashing her for even thinking there is such a thing as white privilege. I haven't watched it, was just curious if someone else had/what they thought about it.

Just like the editorial that is trending right now on LSA, white folks will pretend to not get it. It is purposeful ignorance. I guess that is why I want to know what her motivation is. The whole issue is tiring but thanks for sharing for those that might be interested in watching it.

I am watching now and enjoying it. I really like the fish and water analogy. I’ll be back with an update.

ETA: Chelsea looks the same age as her ex boyfriend’s mom.

I remember her saying it on her show, but I always thought that she was lying/making it up that she had a black boyfriend in her teens. Her story was just ‘smh.’ Like damn. Exactly what you would expect. lol.

I’m super surprised with where this documentary went.

I don't know what Chelsea hopes to achieve with this film. It's not groundbreaking or anything.

When she said she got arrested and snitched on her boyfriend and got him arrested yet all those years later, he still looks obsessed with her that's crazy.

It's interesting how his mom also hated blackness and being a black woman, and her son ended up having multiple children with black women.

I thought his kids looked mixed. It’s crazy how the hate for her (the mom) blackness impacted her. I was surprised and sad to hear that.

I tried to watch it, but it’s not for me. It’s like remedial kindergarten reading for 7th graders, white people starting at basic level of trying to understand racism. Maybe it will be good for white people. But black people should choose better ways to waste their time, because it’s patronizing, annoying, immature, and embarrassing. (Which is where most white people are when it comes to race.)

Are any of the white people on the show receptive to having a conversation about white privilege? Or does she interview mostly POC to try to understand as is often the case?

Just finished watching and I agree. By the time I got into it, it was nearly over. Seemed like surface level conversation and a lot of wide angle shots of her staring at black people explaining things to her.

It's mostly POCs but there was a scene of conservative white women that thought every color had their own privilege :disdain and another scene where she briefly talked to white people at an oktober fest. She also interviewed tim wise and a white southern rapper

I appreciated the discourse with the university students. Sis said it’s a privilege you get to make a documentary and ask us questions, ask them. I don’t know that young lady but I applaud her.

I'm just going to bump this because I'm watching these scenes now.

Oktober fest - most of them were racist. That fat white woman in denim that was like "I'm one the same level as those....people"

"What people?"

"The black and browns and whatever"

That guy in the black T-shirt that said that White privilege didn't exist because he had black friends in school.....

I started watching months ago but had to take a break because the museum in Alabama(?) was really heavy for me. I hope to pick it back up.

Bump. They were a bunch of racist witches. And A couple of them didn't even look fully white.

One of them was trying to imply that privilege was having two parents and POC didn't have that privilege. She also said that POC were getting more college admissions and more job opportunities. But 2 black people on a team of 40 is not progress. One woman in red was like "everyone has privilege. I'd like to see her sit down with a group of brown and black women and explain what privileges they have?

When Chelsea starts talking about a racial divide and one woman [who looks white Hispanic] was like "What racial divide?"

Obviously behind closed doors, they told each other to deny deny deny. Because they can't be this stupid.
