Welcome to Lipstick Alley!
This site is an offshoot of eddiegeorge.com,
the personal website of former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George, who
is now retired from the NFL.
On the message board at eddiegeorge.com, ladies gathered and dished on celebs,
athletes and their encounters with them. To get a feel for how the gossip
flowed at that time check out the LSA Classic Posts forum.
Eventually, things got too hot to handle on
the board and Eddie asked that the forum be disassociated from his website.
Janitor, who managed eddiegeorge.com, moved the forum to a domain that he owned
named lipstickalley.com. That's when Lipstick Alley was born.
In 2006 Janitor decided to move on and sell
the board, giving all monies to a worthy charity, (who said there are no good
men left in the world?). The board was purchased by one of the forum members,
Curious Too, who now goes by the name “The Admin.”
Some notes from Janitor:
"People always ask how the name LipStickAlley.com
came about. Back around 1999, on Rapmusic.com we had a IP Chat program called HearMe Chat. Alot of the members used to hang
out in the chat room each night listening to everyone talk. We had a few female
members who would come in the chat room taking over the mic and start talking.
I knew then we needed a forum just for the females to chill and post. I came up
with the name on the fly, not thinking it would catch on.
When I started Eddie's site, the message board was really for fans who wanted to talk about Eddie and
his career, sports talk, Ohio State Buckeyes and the Titans. Little did I know
that it would turn into a forum with 95% females taking it over, lol. It was
almost like a science drama project. I concluded that if you put 100 females in
a room, they would eventually have a cat fight sooner or later! If you put 100
men into a room (as long as there is no alcohol) they would get along and find
something to do such as flipping quarters against the wall or playing cards.
Lol.
The move to lipstickalley.com: I had to move the forum off Eddie's site. It was getting
out of hand with all the drama on the site... I would get players hitting me up
complaining about certain posts. Issues would get back to Eddie, and he didn't
have time to mess with it. Once we went live with the new domain name and forum
- it just kept growing and the drama never stopped. Lol.
The Current Lipstick Alley
Some pretty ugly things happened on the forum
between 2004 and 2006, including the exposure of the true identities of some of
the forum members. People understandably became gun shy when it came to
gossiping because being exposed could hurt the “insiders” careers. When the
forum changed hands the new owner felt that while the members may be reluctant
to gossip, there were plenty of other topics they could freely discuss and
expanded the board with new forums. The result is today's very active Lipstick
Alley, which averages about 7,000 posts and 35,000 visitors per day.
The Community
While Lipstick Alley members are
predominantly African American females, all races and genders are welcome. This
is an adult community who discusses a broad range of topics with little
censorship. Profanity is allowed and we don't do any hand holding here. If you
plan on joining you must have thick skin. If you have issues dealing with
people whose views and beliefs are counter to yours, this isn't the forum for you.
If reading unpopular opinions cause your eyes to cross, you should probably
move on. But if you like lively, intense debate and can at the end of the day
agree to disagree, join us!

information collected is your email address and registration IP address. While
you browse the site certain non-personal information is collected in the site’s
access log, such as the type of browser and operating system you use, your IP
address, the date, time and the forums you visited, and if you followed a link
to this site from another website.. This information does not identify you
personally. The access logs are processed daily by a log analyzer and then
deleted.
The only time your IP address is recorded is when you register for an account.
It is not recorded when you post on the forum.
We do not share, sell, trade or rent your personal information to third
parties.
We will not disclose your personal information to a third party without first
receiving a valid civil subpoena. In the event that we receive a valid
subpoena, we will promptly notify the account holder whose information is
sought.
Cookies
We may
place "cookies" on your personal computer. "Cookies" are
small identifiers sent from a website server and stored on your computer’s hard
drive that help us to recognize you if you visit this site again. Cookies are
not designed to get data from your hard drive or your email. To protect your privacy,
we do not use cookies to store or transmit any personal information about you
on the Internet.
We strictly prohibit the release in this community of the personal
information of any member including, but not limited to:
Personal
photographs – photographs
of family members and photographs that have been altered in an attempt to
conceal the fact that it is a picture of a member of this community are not
allowed. If the photograph has been released on another forum, you must get
permission from the member here before posting it on this forum.
Posting a news article that happens to include a photograph and the real name
of a LSA member does not violate our privacy rules unless any board member’s
comments include references to the listed members LSA user name.
We realize that on occasion a member of this community may have the opportunity
to be photographed with a celebrity or at a celebrity event. If any resulting
pictures are posted here we would not consider it a violation of our privacy
rules unless forum members refer to the person in the photo by their LSA user
name.
If you post pictures of yourself anywhere on this forum we will assume that you
are not concerned about this particular aspect of your privacy and will not
sanction forum members for reposting or altering any photographs that you post.
Real names – legally recognized names (sometimes referred to on
the forum as “government name”), maiden names of married LSA members, and
children’s names cannot be posted. The names of spouses are off limits unless
they are considered “famous,” for example, celebrities, athletes, politicians,
etc. If your spouse is famous it’s in your best interests to keep that
information to yourself.
Addresses and Telephone numbers – current and former residences
and the release of partial information is not allowed. For example, a street
name but not the house number.
Occupation – posting any reference to businesses owned by LSA
members or companies that employ LSA members without the subject member's
permission is not allowed.
.
Because of the severity of the punishment (banishment) you must be prepared to
provide concrete proof if you feel your privacy has been violated (sometimes
referred to as being “outed”). In order for a post on this forum to be
considered to be in violation of the privacy rules it must explicitly include
either your full legal name, your address, your phone number, your place of
employment or your photograph.
Threatening to “out” someone by implying that you have gathered personal
information that’s prohibited by our privacy rules will result in a warning or
infraction from either a moderator or administrator. Continuing with such
threats will result in a permanent ban from the forum.
Attempting to out someone by directing forum members to an external website where
personal information is posted, or asking them to private message you for the
information, is not allowed and will result in a warning or infraction from a
moderator or administrator. Continuing to out someone via this method will
result in a permanent ban from the forum.
If a member is “outed” it does not mean that their personal information can be
freely shared on the forum. Once the person behind the outing is banned all
privacy rules still apply to the outed board member.
Your Account
Each member is allowed one login account. If
you have forgotten your log in details do not create a new account. Click on
the 'Forgot Your Password' link on any page that requires you to fill in your
password. This will bring up a page where you should enter your registered
email address, and an email will be sent to that address instantly, with
instructions for resetting your password.
If the email address on your account is not
valid and you can't receive a new password, the only way to gain access to the
forum again would be to register a new account. We don't manually change email
addresses and passwords because there is no way to verify that the person
making the request actually owns the account.
We use cookies to track multiple username logins or multiple registration
attempts from the same computer. It became necessary to install such software
because of the number of community members who created multiple accounts for
the sole purpose of trolling on the forums. We understand that there are
instances where the trigger of this alarm does not necessarily mean a member is
up to mischief. There may be family members or co-workers accessing LSA from
the same computer. We do not expect explanations from you if your username
appears in this forum. We leave it up to the community members to determine
for themselves whether or not the secondary accounts were created to cause
mischief or are legitimate.
Usernames must not include any profanity, sexual references or racial or sexual
slurs. If you want to change your username, you can purchase a new username at
the LSA Mart (http://lipstickalley.com/vbshop.php).
If you have over 1,000 posts you can change your username in the User CP every 365
days.
There is no way to close or delete your account. If you decide you no longer
want to be a member of the forum, login to your UserCP and make sure all notification
options are set to “no.” Then leave.
All information, data, text, software, music, sound, photographs, graphics,
video, messages or other materials ("Content"), whether publicly
posted or privately transmitted, are the sole responsibility of the person from
which such content originated. LSA does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity
or quality of such content.
Avatars and Profile Pictures
Profile and avatar pictures must be asexual.
No genitals, no gyrating, no implied sex, nothing sexual at all. Racially
offensive images are also prohibited. You cannot use a picture of another
member without that member’s approval. If it’s an image of something that you
would be uncomfortable viewing at work, don’t use it in your profile picture or
avatar. You can only use a custom Avatar if you purchase it with points from
the LSA Mart.
Signatures
You must purchase your signature from the LSA
Mart. Signature pictures must be asexual. . No genitals, no gyrating, no
implied sex, nothing sexual at all. Racially offensive images are also
prohibited. If it’s an image of something that you would be uncomfortable viewing
at work, don’t use it in your signature. Signature images should be no larger
than 600 pixels wide by 150 pixels high. Once you have been registered for 30
days and have at least 150 posts you can place links in your signature. You
cannot post any affiliate or referral links, or post anything asking for a
referral in your signature. Those links will be removed.
LSA Mart
One of the features of this forum is the
ability of forum members to change your avatar and user title. They can also
steal points from you. Points are used to purchase items from the LSA Mart. You
can purchase immunity from theft and avatar/user title changes in the LSA Mart.
How to Properly Promote Your Business or
Website on LSA
Place a link to your site or business in your
signature and profile and participate in the various discussions on the forum.
Creating posts with links to your website is prohibited. You will be warned and
asked to stop creating such posts. If you continue, you will be banned from Lipstick
Alley.
The 25 Post Rule
Because of past problems with trolls and
spammers we have instituted a rule stating that you need 25 posts before you
have full access to all of the forums and forum features. You need 25 posts in
order to have access to the following:
- Private
Messages
- Able
to create threads
- Able
to post responses in the Celebrity Gossip, Any Info, and Almost Famous forums
- Able
to use the Thanks/Groans/LOL system
The “Dead Horse” Rule
This rule is for those forum members who can’t
let go of a topic and create posts regarding said topic in threads that are
completely unrelated to that topic.
For example, in our Michael Jackson forum
there are members who are obsessed with the paternity of his children and will
make a post about the paternity of said children in threads that are completely
unrelated to the paternity of his children.
Another example would be a member who is
obsessed with black women/white male relationships, and posts about those
relationships in completely unrelated threads.
If we find you “beating a dead horse” we will
post a response to your dead horse post asking you to stop. If you continue you
may be banned from a particular forum or thread or receive a formal warning. If
you still continue, you will receive infractions and eventually be banned.
E-Stalking
Following someone from thread to thread,
posting derogatory, profane comments in response to their posts is not allowed.
These posts are usually unrelated to the thread topic and are made solely to
get at a particular poster. If you engage in this type of behavior we will ask
you to stop. If you continue you will be infracted and if you still continue you
will be banned from the forum.
General Posting Rules
Lurk before posting so you can get a feel for
each forum and what is and is not acceptable there.
Don’t create posts telling us how many people
are viewing the thread.
Don’t create posts telling us you didn’t read
a post.
Don’t create threads campaigning for a
particular member to be banned.
Make an effort to read a post before responding.
Posts that are created in response to a thread’s title instead of the actual
content are a bad look for you and Lipstick Alley.
Don't use profanity in thread titles.
Post your message in the appropriate forum.
Resist the temptation to post irrelevant topics on an inappropriate forum to
achieve a wider audience. Moderators will move your post if it is more relevant
to another forum.
Sexually explicit topics are not allowed on the
main forum due to the terms and conditions of our advertisers, but we have
provided an alternate private group for such content: XES Club.
Multiple or repeated posting of senseless
comments in order to increase your post count is not allowed and those posts
will be deleted.
The following type of content is not allowed
- Threads
regarding hacking, gambling, illicit drugs, sales of alcohol,
tobacco, prescription drugs, and weapons.
- Threads
advertising the sale of designer knockoffs .
- Threads
regarding the sales or distribution of coursework or student
essays.
- Threads
regarding programs which compensate users for clicking ads or offers,
performing searches, surfing websites or reading emails.
You cannot post any affiliate or referral
links, or post anything asking for a referral. Such posts will be removed.
Discussion of illegal activities such as
software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not
allowed. Posting download links to copyrighted material is not allowed.
Creating the same topic in multiple forums
(cross posting) is not allowed.
You may not post on behalf of any banned
member in any public manner. This includes all forums, private messages, signatures,
and e-mail features.
You may not post words or URLs that are
censored by adding spaces, dots, or substituting characters; or by any other
means in an attempt to defeat any censors put in place by LSA. Please contact
us if you feel a word or URL is unjustly censored.
Content related to racial intolerance or
advocacy against any individual, group or organization because of their race is
not allowed. Racial,
religious or sexual slurs are not allowed. Because we occasionally have a
member who has trouble interpreting this rule, let's get explicit here:
referring to anyone or any group as a nigger, spic, redneck, monkey, coon,
messycan, wetback, dyke, honkey, faggot, ape, blue gums, ching chong, chinky, darkey,
jap – I think you get our drift now – can be cause for an immediate ban from
this forum. Don’t’ try to use alternate words to skirt this rule. Your intent
will be clear and will result in your being warned, infracted or banned. Back
Alley brawl if you must, but leave race and sex out of it.
Threads containing graphic photos that some
members may find disturbing should be identified with NSFW (not safe for work)
in the thread title. If a photo is extremely graphic or offensive the
moderators may use their discretion to remove the photo.
Moderators may, at their discretion, split a
discussion that has been derailed or taken off topic into two or more separate
discussions in order to get the original discussion back on track. Don’t derail
threads because you disagree with the subject matter or dislike the person who
created the thread. If you continually try to derail a thread you will be
banned from the thread. If you don’t like the subject matter rate the thread 1
star and move on.
Using graffiti to insult, demean, or harass a
board member is not allowed. Any graffiti that references a board members name,
a board members post number, the original poster (op), or is used in any way to
“get at” a board member will be deleted and the creator will receive an
infraction. If you want to “get at” a board member, be brave and bold enough to
do it in the Back Alley.
Dealing With People and Topics You Deem
Intolerable
If you find a particular member to be
intolerable, don't complain to the Admin or Moderators. Instead, add that
member to your ignore list. Afterward you won't see any of their posts. To add
a member to your ignore list, find one of their posts, then click on their
name. Select “add (member name) to your ignore list” from the drop down menu.
To ignore a forum, click the “Forum Tools”
link at the top of the forum, then click “Ignore Forum.”
To ignore a thread, click the “Thread Tools”
link at the top of the thread, then click “Ignore Thread.”
If you don’t want to receive private messages
from a particular member add them to your PM Block List. You can find the PM
Block List in the user control panel under “Edit Options.” Users on this list
will not be able to PM you. Enter 1 username per line. Mods and Admins will
always be able to PM you regardless of this setting.
Being that this is an adult community, we
expect the members to be mature enough to scroll past or ignore board members
and topics they find distasteful. Please don't request that a particular member
be banned. One members troll is another member's favorite poster. If you feel
someone is a troll the easiest thing to do is ignore them.
Special Forum Posting Rules
Anonymous Posting (Incogneato) – certain forums
allow anonymous posting. In the celebrity forums, anonymous posting is reserved for those
people who have first hand celebrity gossip to share. This does not mean gossip
copied from a blog or another website or a link to a news article. Using
anonymous posting to post such material will cause your identity to be
revealed. If you post a photo you must post first hand gossip to accompany the
photo, otherwise your identity will be revealed. Posting general comments and
questions anonymously will cause your identity to be revealed. Beefing
anonymously will cause your identity to be revealed, so if you post Incog be
prepared to suck it up and deal with the responses in a civil manner.
In the Anonymous Relationship forum, Incog
posting is reserved for those situations that you deem to be too embarrassing to
post under your regular screen name. This is not a forum to test your fiction
writing skills. If a thread you create appears to be so outlandish that it's
unbelievable you risk your identity being revealed. If you post contradicting
stories, for example in one thread you are married and in another thread you
are divorced with two boyfriends, your identity will be revealed. General
comments and questions posted anonymously in this forum will be revealed.
The Back Alley and Trolling Forums - beefing and flame wars are moved to the Back Alley. If you choose to participate, don't
complain. Threads that start in other forums but degenerate into a back alley
brawl will be moved to the Back Alley. The privacy rules still apply. No
photos, names (including family members), addresses, phone numbers, or work
information is to be released about any member in this forum. Obvious trolling threads will be moved to the trolling forum.
Almost Famous – this forum is for
posting topics related to video vixens, jumpoffs, "wifeys," and
affiliates of athletes and entertainers, not semi-famous or has been
celebrities. All celebrity related topics should be posted in the Celebrity
Gossip forum.
Any Info – this forum is for requesting
information about an athlete, politician or entertainer. If you have questions
about an average, every day Joe, ask it in the Life forum.
Celebrity Gossip - The object of this
forum is to trade gossip about celebrities. This forum is not limited to
discussions of Hollywood stars, but may include celebrities such as sports
stars, television stars, Royalty and music celebrities. Gossip can get nasty,
so if you are looking for gushing or slavish devotion about a certain
celebrity, you'll be much better off in his/her fan forum than here.
Infractions
Rules violations will result in either a

the moderating team. The current infractions list:

The Moderators
There are two types of moderators:
- Global Moderators (blue badge) - can
moderate any forum
- Section Moderators (green badge) – can
moderate any forum in a particular section, for example, Entertainment
Central or The Lounge.
The moderators are here to keep the forums
sane. Please don’t harass or intentionally annoy them.
If you don't like a rule that a moderator is trying to enforce, take it up with
the forum Administrator. Publicly attacking any moderator because they tried to
enforce the forum rules will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with a
particular moderator in regards to rules violations, please discuss this with
them via email or personal message. If the problem cannot be resolved, contact
the Administrator.
Moderators are active participants in forum discussions. We understand that a
board member my occasionally disagree with a stance that a moderator has taken
in regards to a particular discussion and that's ok. Also note that a Moderator
may not use their position to "silence" you by deleting your post or
banning you from a thread just because they disagree with you. If you feel that
this has happened contact the Administrator.
If you have a problem with the way the forum
is operated make a detailed post in the Members Questions forum. We are open to
civil, constructive criticism. Making personal attacks against any moderator or
administrator because you don’t like the way the forum is operated will result
in an immediate ban from this forum.
Conclusion
Although the administrators and moderators of
LSA will make every attempt to enforce these rules, it is impossible for us to
read every post every day. If you see a post that you think requires our
attention, click the “report post” button and we will review it.
Please note that every single issue that might possibly arise would be
impossible to address within these guidelines. Therefore, just because a
certain issue isn't raised here, doesn't mean it will be allowed (or
disallowed, for that matter) within the Community.
