Y'all alwaus make hard for black, black (ish) girls but whites put girls like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish (eho habe some talent but are overrated) on a pedestal, "she is a plant" let her be, let girls shine being average, not eveybody is janet, whitney, Lauryn, i bet that theres more talented peoplw than H.E.R, but some people make succes and some dont, its is what its is.
Those white girls are trash r& b girls are better!

She’s a great artist, I just haven’t gotten into her music..she is boring. I use to feel the same way about Jhene but I’m just now getting into her music and it’s good.
U wanna ass hanging out signing about a baby daddy tons of tats and no good n words breaking hearts and a smut in da club all night, well there’s plenty of artist crying about that!

Her first three mixtapes/EP's/whatever they are were FIRE! A lot of her recent music doesn't do anything for me. She can be kinda monotone vocally. I'd like to hear a little more versatility.

I knew she was mixed bc of the things she was into & wasnt a stereotypical black girl. Her mind is different. Not saying all black girls the same but mixed ppl We see thing multi dimensional!

You're very ignorant.

Both Jorja Smith and Ari Lennox's debut albums are miles ahead HER's artistically, but LSA ain't ready for that conversation.

Domko_-VsAAsQcl.jpg

Facts! Both are really a breath of fresh air. Very unique projects. Ari reminds of Erykah Badu/Jill Scott.

I agree. Janelle dropped the ball. Arch Android and Metropolis had me shook. Just phenomenal bodies of work
She didn't drop any ball. Dirty Computer was grammy nominated for album of the year 2019 and should have won.

Janelle Monae management isn't aggressive as H.E.R, who was raised in the music industry.

No, I don’t. I love other artists like Jazmine, Giveon, Kehlani (who had one of the best albums this year), Durand, Kirby...the list can go on. I just can’t get into her music. It’s really that simple. Stop projecting your taste on me, loser.

Not feeling her and notice all of the "stars" today are biracial? That sh!t is by design. I don't like this little b!tch and she's said sh!tty things about Black people in the past. That other no rapping chick Saweetie is also half Asian. Not to mention Farti who doesn't even have a Black parent. Stop supporting these frauds while you shut real Black women out.

This! This deserves a thread. I feel like they're pushes these biracial girls so hard. They really are trying to rebrand RnB and Rap into whiteness. I'm not attacking biracial people, just a ton of industry plants.

this isn’t talked about enough. I like a select few songs but most are monotone and boring (sing/talking in the same key, sounding like an album filler track). with the amount of obvious push from her team/industry and award accolades (like winning album Grammys off EPs that were thrown together to make an “album”), folks would think her music is selling and streaming high but it’s not. She drops so many singles yearly and most don’t make any noise AT ALL. why?

In r&b, CxH, Summer, and Sza are doing way better but people wouldn’t think that if they didn’t look at the numbers. I know numbers are not everything, but it makes you wonder how she’s being pushed as someone who is “killing r&b”. The math ain’t mathing. signed since forever, but why hasn’t HER dropped her debut album yet?
All her singles are platinum you’re just keeping up with ratchet artist. All her music goes straight to number one google it. She’s more successful than all of them because not everyone like those ratchet artist grown folks like grown folks music. Google her she’s a huge success! Hood tunes is y Sza didn’t get a Grammy!

summer walk the next Anita Baker to this crowd here:)

She's a brown-skinned girl. I called her dark in comparison to the plethora of light-skinned/bleached chicks she is competing against in that colorist industry. Please stop. I am sick of you all always trying hard to discredit a brown-skinned Black woman's hue just because her hair is straight.

I have a cousin who is as dark as Lupita Nyongo but she has long bone-straight hair like an East Indian. And she's ADOS African American. Does that make her less dark skinned because her hair is straight and her features are small? You all have archaic, racist, outdated ideologies around African phenotypes.
What are black people so obsessed with skin complexion
who cares if they are dark or light
its the music thats important

Unpopular opinion: I don’t think her voice is that great. It’s good but not amazing like so many claim. Her range is limited and she tends to mumble her verses.

People want to see their representation on the stage. Period. It's more than just skintone. Would it make sense to have Kim Kardashian represent salsa music? Or have Shakira played in a movie by Jennifer Lopez?

If you don’t know anything besides Focus, Best Part, and Damage (which is a freebie bc it was posted in this thread), I don’t think this is the thread for you.

Because depending on the shade of our black skin there are more opportunities presented and representation. Many black people are also treated differently depending on our skin tone. I think thats why we're "obsessed" with complexion

I bet pennies to donuts she will do like a lot of Asian women with weak jawlines and get a implant with eyelid surgery.

If they are "black" or dark skin they are at least quarter white. Newsflash The dark skin girls you guys support are mixed race as well.

No one is supporting sevyn the way they should

Yes of course that exists but if a LS person has good music, they shouldn't be pushed or supported because they are light.
What has HER done to be hated? LSA often hates on Normani and mock her and she is a darker shade so its kinda funny to read some of these comments.

She’s done nothing but put out the best music in 20 years she messed up supporting & being in love with Chris Brown but many of LSA stands love men who abuse black women should be fine with that!

I agree but Damage dragged me back in and back on my bs was good too but the rest this year i wasn’t feeling it! It’s probably gonna be my last so I’m enjoying it!

I didn’t make up stories I just don’t care no more I’m not looney. Ion wanna speak the truth but now I’m no longer crushing on her I like Damage bc it’s the only song ion picture her singing to Sleazy smoked out Skip...my girl taking good care of me at home so I’m no longer thirsting over a talented straight junkie loving stranger..

I forgive you HER for playing with my soul :) but she should pay me! She’s obsessed with Skip she has a thing for high yellow junkies with famous names. I accept that Damage will probably be the only song I like by ha going forward but I’m glad she made 1 more I can relate too!

I think H.E.R father has connection to Clive Davis. I remember H.E.R/ Gabby performing on the today show years ago. Her voice has zero versatility.

I do not understand why stars lie about their background? Gabby, Saweetie, etc.... There is nothing wrong with being given opportunities to help your career.

What is so great about struggling?

Great point!

Look at how ratchet blacks hate her because she’s “boring” meaning not having her ass hanging out singing about hood dudes. It’s 3 different types of black ppl remember that!

Because of how you worded your post I can't tell if you're telling me what H.E.R allegedly said or if you're trying to insinuate that the people in this thread are hating on H.E.R

If it's the former, thanks... but if it's the latter, you need to get the fµck from under my post and stop doing this weird dick riding hate you-love you internal struggle you've been doing all up in this thread. It's getting fµck!ng weird.

For you to be dragging fonts about supporting singers that are oversexualized (on unfounded claims), you sure are riding on H.E.R's nutz.

Same. The song finally grew on me. It's the best song she has released so far. The others did not catch on for me.
Naw go list to that HER ep every of kind way, puss, leave the light on, rather be, the one where she say “boy u know I don’t get naughty for anybody” Her old stuff I’m
Not into the 2020 music besides Damaged!
