Which parts of the reading did you find interesting
For one, the part where she says that Michael eventually realized that due to his lifestyle he would never be able to give her the life that she wanted and what he felt she deserved. I definitely agree with that. After all the heartbreak, anger and sadness he was finally able to come to the realization that no matter how much they loved each other a relationship between them just wouldn't work in the long run
Also when she pulled the the card "its not me, its you" referring to Diana's feelings about Michael and how she may have felt that it was Michael who ruined the relationship. I found that interesting because it reminded me of in Michael's conversations with Rabbi Shumley when he said that he ruins all of his relationships. That very well may be true in his relationship with Diana as well. But I feel he may have ruined it, but it may not have been his own fault, you know it may have just been due to his own inexperience with relationships, or then like I said before because of his fame.
Then the part about "I'm ignoring you" I feel that can come from both sides as I feel they both are the type that if they get upset or have an argument and don't get their way, they will ignore each other for a while. Hence, Diana going on vacation without him and Michael going to Australia, working on Captain EO and other projects. Honestly I believe they are too much alike for their own good
The part where she said Diana felt sad that she could never really be in a relationship with him because she would have to sacrifice so much. This reminds me of the song she sang "Heart Don't Change My Mind" I believe that song clearly speaks of her feelings regarding their breakup (go check out the video too if you haven't...very obvious). She loved him dearly, but believed it was in the best interest of them both that they not be together so she had to let him go. I do believe that there was a breakup initiated by Diana before she left for the Bahamas. And Michael, being young, naïve and blinded by his love for her, probably didn't think much of the break up. Thought it was only going to be temporary, they would have a little time apart but come back together. I believe this is the most plausible scenario in regards to their break up in my opinion.
And the part when she said they felt nothing could come between them, no matter what happens in their life, who they are with or whatever, their connection was stronger than all of that. I believe that to be true
