It don't come off genuine. Very disco karaoke teas for me. Neither Bruno nor Anderson have xes appeal or that 'desirability' oop yeah I said it lol. Y'all can close the door I'm good

That is what it is, it seems like a forced project. The older people love it. My mom does, My stepdad hates it and I swore they were gonna be jamming to it together. Lol

I know I'm gonna get a lot of hate for saying this... But I actually think Bruno Mars is more talented than him.

Well I've been listening to the weeknd before he got famous...so idk.

With Bruno...he's going backwards. He has a nice voice...but so does Maxwell. But they choose the wrong songs.

Even someone like MJ.. always wanted to know what's in, what's new..he never wanted to sound the same. That's why his music is still so popular. You can be the best singer in the world, if the songs don't fit, it's not going to happen.

Tbh I haven't been feeling the song. It's not bad but it doesn't have the replay value that Uptown Funk had (plus that song was everywhere soon as it dropped). I even forgot about it until I came across this post.

Idk the whole back to the 70s act is getting a bit old from him. Abel and Dua need to let him know we're rehashing the 80s now.

I really like this song but then again I am such a Bruno Mars fan girl that he can do no wrong in my eyes

People who are genuine fans of Bruno would know that he has been losing his musical luster for years now. I first started to notice it around the 24k era. The casual fans ate that corny ass album up. Yes, it had some bops but it was definitely leaning into karaoke territory.

Bruno is not that fµck!ng creative by himself. He leans on the old school as his main source of inspiration but he does not do it in the most creative ways anymore. So much so that one would have to ask who exactly is Bruno Mars. We know who Janelle Monae is as an artist, same for Leon Bridges...but who is Bruno?

I am not sleeping on the fact that Bruno is releasing the collaboration when he just lost his musical partner Phil. My sister told me that she thinks he’s using Anderson’s talent...I believe he is although it may not be totally vicious. Bruno fears irrelevancy.
What happened to Phil?

The single is enjoyable and more music like it needs to come back. However, Bruno does seem like he's lost his own style and has become a skilled mimic, which is unfortunate because he has legit talent and ability. I'd still listen to the collaborative album (if they finish and release it) but Bruno needs to do something fresh.

I'd rather hear this than "Sexy lil b!tch. Sexy lil hoe...blah blah blah" or "Come get it back in blood". That bµllsh!t is more detrimental to the black community than a culture vulture will ever be.

I agree and I think he's a little like Katy Perry in that that era of pop ballads is over, which is what made him famous in the first place.

I have no zero awareness of what that is, and that song is not sitting in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100. It is really intriguing as to how you guys have awareness of all of the newest degenerate songs when they are not even that popular or ubiquitous

this is probably the scariest thing about being talented and famous. one day the world loves and adores you, the next it forgets your name and the last big song you made was 10 years ago

These songs are very popular whether YOU know them or not. Familiarize yourself past the top 10.

People shoudt care for a #1 like that and care more for consistency, like dont start now from Dua, was not #1 but is on the hot 100 from the whole 2020/2021 year, a good amount of time on top 10 and its a hit.

I dont remember if bliding lights get the #1 but i know that the song stay in the top 10 for a whole year, its much more expressive and memorable than song who just stay one week in the #1.

Theres a lot of songs who get #1 last year that i dont remember but i remember of dont start now and bliding lights.

He shouldn't worry about always hitting number one. It is a good song and probably will be on the charts for a while- another font called it a "slow burner". I see this song as being a classic song played at cookouts, wedding receptions, b-day parties for years to come. Even it it doesn't hit number one on the main chart - I think it is still a success.

Chile, I thought the album was already out.

Yawn. He's got to be the most un-unique, copy and pasted pop star there is. How cheesy do you have to be to be biting from every other decade of music but your own? He needs to break new ground, once and for all.

TBH i always listened to oldies but the pandemic + lockdown had me listening to 70-90s music like they just came out. Like I just bought these from the record store came out. I'm sure this has been the case for many other people, so when I hear Bruno's music I don't see innovation, I see a ripoff, a copycat. I think this type of song came out at the wrong time, it's about to be summer and Bruno's last project was very upbeat, I liked some of his slow jams but none of them were #1 worthy. So for him to come out with another slow jam after 24k magic, That's what I like, Fineese, Please me, etc it just seems like the same old stuff;

He's a great performer but I find his music lazy, late and overall very cheesy. I like maybe 2 songs of his. I will jam out to "Perm" tho, even if it does sound bootleg James Brown record lol

Why are people so desperate for #1s these days? Going #1 for one week after using every gimmick in the book doesn't look impressive. Bruno should focus on releasing quality music and forget about the charts.

And Justin actually needed the promo. Yummy hit #2 (blocked by The Box) and the week after, it flopped out of the top 10 and was never seen again. It was a pity #2 (bought by Scooter, I'll die on that hill).
Leave The Door Open still hasn't left the top 5 yet after a month+ (it's #3 this week). It obviously has some longevity. I don't get why people are acting as if it's flopping and Bruno/Anderson is desperate.

Early Bruno is highly slept on. “Talking to the Moon” gets me in my feelings every single time. Doo-Wops and Hooligans brings me back to my high school years...it was a fun little carefree vibe. He was more unique to himself back then, while also incorporating influences.

I actually love the song and surprised it didn’t reach number 1. Especially since all the songs that have went number since Leave the Door Open was released were one week wonders at number 1

You are right.

I see Bruno as a glorified tribute singer, hence why when compared to the people who is imitating he looks like a joke.

Janelle is amazing but since she isn't a hypersexual rapper talking about her p*ssy and how much d*ck she constantly has in her, she isn't a massive mainstream artist.

The current agenda is to promote the likes of City Girls and Meghan Thee Stallion over versatile black artists like Janelle who play multiple instruments and perform a wide range of genres.
I'm sure you'd be disappointed to know that Janelle and Bruno have not only toured with one another on a very successful tour, but they are good friends. She'd be one of the first ones to tell you that what you say about Bruno is 100% wrong.

You are not referring to me, but many of us know that they toured together. Touring with black artist does not somehow give you a pass into black culture. I like Bruno but many of you waive your rainbow/all-inclusive flag whenever he becomes a topic. That very tour Is one of the key reasons why I suspect that early Bruno was ripping some of her sh!t.

I suspect you are not black, because many of you love to use other black people to condemn and silence black people.

Bruno lost me when he linked up with that fugly colorist Paak, like that asshole can't even sing. It sucks cuz I do like his music, even if he is just a vulturing karaoke singer at this point.

He's lucky a song with a 70s aesthetic is doing so well tbh. Still, its always embarrassing with all the stunts artists pull to hit number one. The song is successful, why isn't that enough?
Men don’t care about the flaws in other men, because more likely then not they too ain’t sh!t. He teamed up with Kodak black way before Anderson came into the picture so...

I listen to those who have actually WORKED with Bruno and KNOW Bruno. Which is not you, but Janelle. Babyface. Teddy Riley. Jimmy Jam. Terry Lewis. Janet Jackson. Lionel Ritchie. Smokey Robinson, and even PRINCE had wrote him before he passed away (R.I.P.). I could go on...

So, again, I will listen to THOSE who truly KNOW who he is and what he is about.

Again with you using Black people to silence other black people. I also peeped that you did not deny that you were non-black.
Have a good day sir.
