The fact that the man brought a gun into their apartment leads me to believe he had bad plans from the start.
He probably was always going to set them up.
May they rest peacefully!
You have to be careful meeting strangers and instantly inviting them to your home or going to theirs. Get to know them in public first, do background checks.
Most women know it's dangerous to invite a strange man to their home. Men don't think that way. He knew he could handle man because he was a man, and they think they're going to have xes, so they don't even consider things that women would to protect themselves. It is just a blatant obvious difference between how man and women thing and behave.A “date” isn’t in your home but at a neutral location!
Yes they should disclose because if they sleep with someone who is straight they have raped them by deception..Apologies in advance to anyone I do not want to gaslight or trigger.
I don’t want to sound ignorant but can we have a conversation about disclosure. I’ve overheard convos on CH read comments on twitter where people have said transwomen shouldn’t have to disclose they are trans and that most men “know” they are trans.
Not specifically this incident but what does everyone think? Personally I’d like to know if someone I was talking to/dating and potentially being intimate with was trans, beforehand.
The autonomy trans people keep by withholding, takes away the other persons autonomy and that’s were the question comes into play. Who’s autonomy is more “important”?
Yall still fall for that line? They always know the real teaFound out his date was a man and he lost it...
They really don't thou.Uh...people talk about that all the time.
This is all fairy tales. Why would a Trans women date another Tans WOMEN...they are STRAIGHT lol. You are confusing gender with sexuality like most of you homophobes do. Its clear you haven't read anything about Trans online. No one is lying about their biological makeup in 2021, these men KNOW the deal as they have always KNOWN.Most women know it's dangerous to invite a strange man to their home. If you spent any time reading the actual words of trans identified men online, you would see that 1) they do not want to date other trans, they have a fetish for straight menl and that 2) too many of them think it's fine and dandy to lie to a man and tell them they are a woman, and even perform xes acts without telling them...which is RAPE. But people still shake their heads as if these men were innocent angels. NO ONE should die over this. But this is a male on male problem they need to sort out, PERIOD.
A man has been charged with allegedly murdering a transgender woman he had met on Plenty of Fish.
Charles Nelson of Springfield, Missouri, had been talking to 26-year-old Dominique Lucious on the site. They made plans to meet up at an apartment where Lucious would be staying. Another occupant of the apartment, identified as “S.D.,” says that Lucious woke him up early Thursday morning to let him know that she was preparing for her date with Nelson. S.D. told police that he went back to sleep but was awakened by the sounds of gunshots. The man says he saw Lucious lying on the couch with a man standing over before fleeing the home and entering his car. S.D. was able to take photos of the man as he drove away. A neighbor also saw the man leaving the apartment.
Nelson was arrested later that evening. Police used explicit text messages between the two and witnesses’ statements to link the 28-year-old to the murder. Authorities claim that Nelson had blood on his shoes when they caught up with him, and a gun recovered at his home matched a shell casing found at the crime scene.
Lucious’s family is stunned by the murder, saying that everyone who knew the young woman adored her.
“We grew up together,” said Ciara Williams, a cousin of Lucious. “We have lived together numerous times.” She goes on to add, “We were both homeless at a point in our lives when we were younger. She made sure I had somewhere warm to stay, even if she didn’t. She had a very good heart.”
Nelson has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held in the Greene County jail.

A Springfield man has been charged with murder in the death of a transgender woman he met online.
Charles Nelson, 28, was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the Thursday morning killing of 26-year-old Dominique Lucious.
According to court documents, Springfield police were dispatched to a home in the 900 block of North Main Avenue at about 7 a.m. Thursday where they found Lucious who had been shot to death.
Court documents say police used information from witnesses, and text message communication on Lucious' phone to identify Nelson as a suspect and arrest him on Thursday night.
According to court documents, it appears Nelson and Lucious met on an online dating website and planned to meet up on Thursday morning at Lucious's apartment.
It's during that meet-up that authorities believe Nelson fatally shot Lucious.
According to court documents, Nelson matched the description of the man many witnesses saw at the scene of the shooting, he also drives the same type of car that several witnesses reported seeing at the scene, and authorities found blood on his shoes and a gun in his home that matched back to a shell casing found at the crime scene.
Court documents say Nelson initially agreed to speak with police and then asked to end the questioning.
A motive for the shooting is unclear.
Nelson is being held in the Greene County Jail without bond and does not have an attorney listed for this case.
The GLO Center in Springfield posted a statement of support for Lucious on social media, saying: "Trans women, particularly trans women of color, are disproportionately victims of violent crime. This murder and the other senseless slaying of trans folks must be contextualized within the anti-trans rhetoric and actions taken by too many. It is 2021 and we must understand that trans rights are human rights."
Hours later, Missouri House Minority Leader Crystal Quade, D-Springfield, released her own statement supporting Lucious and rebuking "legislation targeting the trans and non-binary communities ... pushed by groups who dismiss the damages and dangers their ideology helps cultivate."
"Missouri should be a place where anybody can be their true self, without fear of violence or bigotry," Quade wrote. "We have far to go to ensure Missouri is a safe and welcoming place for every person, no matter how they identify."

You have to be careful on the gay sites as well. Lots of straight men pretend on those sites to set gays and trans up to rob and or possible kill them. Its scary all around for everyone.POF is a disgusting place to date. Outside of that, trans people and gay should be reaallllyy careful with who they meet up with. It's impossible to completely vet everyone but if I were part of that community I would try and date on sites that cater to me and hang around lgbtq clubs . Transphobia is real and there are some people who are just not okay with leaving people alone and project their own self hate onto others with violence.
Idk I’m in a long term relationship but when I was single and dating around years ago, myself and peers didn’t meet anyone of substance on pof. I don’t remember paying for any sites but pof was awful then and awful now.You think paid is any better?
I smell a spinoff, my love! Your last question is juicy... very thoughtful.Apologies in advance to anyone I do not want to gaslight or trigger.

They really don't thou.
We go "this is so sad" and treat them as individual cases but because it's not a trendy cause it never gets addressed.
This article had paragraphs about a "trans murder epidemic" that the statistics don't support.
Compare that with articles of women similarly murdered by online dates. No mention of an epidemic. Just details of the murder and moving on because this is an every day thing for us which is what a real epidemic is. Some of them even blame the woman with a whack conclusion like "We need to be more careful in this day and age of online dating."
Do you know every trans in the world? I have a coworker that LOVES to not tell her dates she was born a man..she figures because she had the bottom surgery then she is a woman..WRONG!!This is all fairy tales. Why would a Trans women date another Tans WOMEN...they are STRAIGHT lol. You are confusing gender with sexuality like most of you homophobes do. Of course if you look for it you can find resources and activists.Again, I recommend doing a search for #femicide on Twitter. There are links to several articles, and there is an organization, Women Count, that keeps a database of femicides. I even found an account dedicated to counting black femicides. Here, spread the word about her: https://twitter.com/blackfemicideUS/
A lot on this issue gets put under the umbrella of "domestic violence" or "partner violence." If you look up those terms, I'm sure you'll find plenty. The fact that the Violence Against Women Act lapsed a few years ago was national news. It's sincebeen reinstated (172 Republicans voted against it)passed in the House, and that made the news, too.
Besides Tinder, POF was the one dating app I consistently only saw dusties on. Bunch of weirdos who were wannabe "entrepenuers" and soundcloud rappers. Never again.POF has been getting nothing but bad press lol

Out of all the free dating websites, I like OK Cupid the most. They actually have you answer questions regarding your personality, views, etc. and use it to show you people you would actually be compatible with.
Why the hell would anyone allow a blind date or someone they met on a free dating site to come to their apartment before meeting in public? They could have gone to Dunkin fµck!ng Donuts instead, if just for 15 minutes! Jesus, some of these trans women are desperate to meet men that they place themselves in such grave danger.
Is it because the transwomen just see themselves as just women and don't feel the need to disclose? That's dangerous.Either the victim lied about her real gender or the murderer regretted after he slept with her. Either way. It's tragic.
I wish these trans women could stop thinking that they can get away by lying about their gender while pursuing straight men.
It's not worth it.

I knew a white woman who once communicated with a guy on Tinder and she went out of town with him to his vacation house for their first date. She had never met him in person prior to that but had already agreed to spend a weekend with him out of town. That's dangerous!Ive never used a dating app but I would not let the first meeting place be in my house. People are crazy
Thank fµck somebody finally stopped bullshitting.Because the dead man was a hooker not someone looking for an actual date.
