They added a community for me! Before it was Jamaica. Now I got San Jose Province, Costa Rica.

For the African, they seemed to get better at identifying.

For Euro they gave me more Spain and seemed to generalize everything else.

Native is exactly the same.

My results changed as well. I need to really delve into the update to see what truly changed.

Their timeline seems more accurate. Africa seems to have improved and it mirrors what I know. My native went down and my African and European went up. It's the first time I hit 60% African on any test.

None of the accounts I manage have been updated, yet. What's the 'updated' date showing for yall? It's at the bottom of your ancestry composition, on the left of the screen.

Mine pretty much the same. They added a bit more to my 8% European line but Im over 90% African, which is expected.

I'm glad they got my dad's exact location in Eritrea correct tho.

My overall breakdown stayed the same, African went up 0.1 to 77.7, European went up 0.6 to 20.5, and Native American is still 1.2. Within Africa and Europe, there was movement between countries, but not too much. Still ZERO recent ancestor locations. Most impressive is (like someone else said), the timeline is now much more accurate. Every country now falls within 4/5 to 8 generations away, which is consistent with my genealogy and what I know about most of my family. There are unknowns, but I know that many branches on both sides were here since the early 1700s or before. So 8 generations works with that.

For me, the timeline was very accurate. I have a Spaniard Grandfather and a African Grand Father. The time line picked it up. My African started at 59% and went up to 60%. For Ftdna, it went from 59 to 58%. My native dropped slightly by around .5% and European fluctuates.

Mine updated on the 19th. I just checked it out today. Not all of my relatives received the update as of yet.

My grandmother is from Nsork, Equatorial Guinea. They still haven't included it yet for Africa, but 23andme's Angolan and Congolese region does encompass EG.

Mine updated, I have less African ancestry than I did before. It also updated my 'Trace Ancestry' results, expanding the countries. Before I had the vague '0.2' South Asian, but now it specifically stated that I have 'Indian and Sri-Lankan'.

My relative's results that I'm managing were updated but not much of a noticeable difference.

The "unassigned" percentage went from 0.7% to 0.3% (and none of it was Native American despite what stories had been passed down). Nigerian went up 5%. British & Irish went up 16% but the overall European went from 30.6% to 31.0%. I think that's due to the 'before' where about 10% was considered Broadly European. Overall Sub Saharan African went from 68.5% to 68.7%.

Thanks. Mine are September/October of 2019 still. I'll have to check the forums to see if which chip matters, a lot of times they roll out stuff by chip.
Its still the same v5 chip, but the algorithm is 5.9

Mine's been updated - it's broadly similar, though Nigerian went up by 7%, Senegambian and Guinean went down by half. While European is now mostly German and French, as opposed to British and Irish and North African has moved up to 1%

My timeline is more incorrect with the update but the community is very accurate. Most of my family in Costa Rica reside in the San Jose province.

My unassigned percentage went down to .2% and it added hmmm trace regions as iranian and caucasians ???

I’m more Nigerian (38%) and more British/Irish(19.2%) - it took away the other European percentages

I got .1% Finnish, which wasn’t there before. I guess it might be true; 23andMe mostly studies yt people anyways. They changed my broadly Chinese and Southeast Asian to Thai/Khmer/Indonesia. I’m sure it’s Malagasy. My trace Indian/Bengali changed to Sri Lankan and North African

Yes. I will come back and post a b/a screenshot later, but Eritrean/Ethiopian is showing 0.1%.

Let me see what happened with my Native American ancestry.

My Congolese ancestry increased.
