Parents expect teachers to raise their children. God bless all the teachers out there, you have a nearly impossible job!

I remember as early as grade school, I had this desire to teach, because I loved working with other children. As I got older, I took on tutoring jobs, and I dunno what it was with me, but children never gave me a hard time. When I tried to explain something, the kids understood and paid attention. But as I came into my adult years and everything took a sharp turn with the rise in school violence and bullying, I decided that because I have anxiety and depression, me becoming a teacher just wouldn't be the best fit anymore.

Teachers have it extremely difficult. They don't get the pay, support or protection they need and deserve. It's hard for them to enjoy what they do, and help children who want to learn, when there are others who bring their troubled lives to school, day in and day out, affecting everyone else.

Things have changed so much with children, compared to 15-20+ years ago, that no school, and no teacher is 100% safe anymore, sadly. Anyone pursuing this profession, has my full sympathy and support, because becoming a teacher, is anything but a "walk in the park"
