It's http://www.onion.city/

It's amazing to see some of the websites on there (I don't click on any) without having to use to TOR browser and it's all perfectly indexed and shows enough information about what the website is about. Since I know some of you are curious about what the deep web is about, you can go and search anything you want and see a general overview of things. I don't know if this has been posted already.

I don't want to see anything else in that world. Been there and done that way before. I will say that there are just as many racist websites on there dedicated to hating black people as there are on the surface web. Don't white people have something better to do with their time? Like now you just can't be behind a computer screen typing hate, you have to be on TOR, on virtual Linux, behind 20 proxies and a separate external hard drive just to continue the hate? LMAO OnionChan gets the biggest wtf from me.

I tried to type ''Hulu'' in the search engine (couldnt think of anything else)

and the word ''HURTCORE'' popped up as a suggestion. I had NO idea what ''hurtcore'' was so my dumb ass clicked on it and this is what I got

Hurtcore (a play on the word "hardcore") is rape pδrn. It goes beyond S&M because it involves actual rape and abuse. Usually humiliation, pain ...

It has a lot of kiddie pδrn on there. I've never seen it because I'm not interested or looking for it. From what I heard and what I have read, you have to be looking for it to find it. Don't click anything you don't know what it is or where it might lead is the moral of the story.

Cheese Pizza= CP

Hard Candy= CP (this was some place where they indexed all the websites that had the CP - the government shut it down I believe)

I side eye the ones that come across the CP, because like I said, you have to be looking for it and clicking weird links.

I don't know why someonw would want to search for crap like that.

You know the deep web is used in other countries where the government limits certain internet usage? You know that the Egyptian people overthrew that dictator through the use of the deep web to communicate with each other? I believe that entire Wikileaks ordeals started on the deep web; some of the documents/e-mails/whatever were first posted there and it then came to the surface web. It's not crap, just because people are scared and hear stories about the malicious things that go on or are posted. They monitor your surface web usage and there are just as bad things on the surface web. You guys have such a warped view of things from a couple of stories.

Thats what I thought too. Actually, I thought I could find a bunch of free stuff (things that the govt didnt want everybody having access to) but honestly, all I saw was a bunch of pδrn and escorting sites/info. Sites that are 'okay' in other countries but outlawed in the US.

What is the deep Web?

It's a portion (well most of the web) that you cannot find through the use of Google, Yahoo and other search engines like so. I'm sure through this search engine you are extremely limited in what you can search for. TOR isn't the only browser that can search through the deep web, I believe you can use Freenet as well, but TOR is used for .onion sites. Freenet is like a browser where you can use the darknet (which is like an anon peer to peer communication system) or just the open net where I believe you can communicate with all other Freenet users. It's slow as all hell though, but the same concept as TOR and TOR is just as slow.

I'm still learning about it, so if I'm wrong about something, I hope someone corrects me.

I've read there is video footage of a murder committed by two Ukrainian brothers from 2007, not sure what else. They are known as the Dnepropetrovsk maniacs and filmed their crimes and one of the videos made it to the internet. They killed 21 known victims and are now doing time.

I'm so scared of the deep web. It's the worst horror story.

I feel like if I were to check things out it would be "curiosity killed the cat"

See that carrot under the box? The one connected by a string to the stick holding the box up? Totally not a trap!

I'm creeped out right now hearing some of the stories. And I thought the internet was bad enough with things like liveleak.

I went on... Don't really see the fascination with it, it's exactly the same as the rest of the web, just with a lot of Russian(?) websites. Am I missing something?

Wish I saw this thread sooner, there's a lot you folks need to know about before messing with anything TOR related.

1. Its not for novices. Hackers CAN and WILL get into your machine by you clicking on a simple link and thats just on the regular internet. On the Darkweb/net/Tor/I2P its to be expected.

2. On any OS, you need to have anti-virus installed and up to date.

3. Strengthen ALL passwords to your computers/smartphones/online web accounts, even trivial things like Twitter and Bossip. Strong passwords = At least 16 characters long and perfectly random. Each service should have a unique password. To facilitate this, use a Password Management app/service such as LastPass or 1Password. If all of this sounds too tedious, you're not ready for the Darkweb. Serisously.

3a. Activate 2 Factor Authentication On EVERY SERVICE THAT ALLOWS IT. If you don't know what this means, you're not ready for the Darkweb.

4. Backup your computer. Mac users can use Time Machine, Windows users can use Windows Backup (Its called different things between Windows Vista to Windows 8).

5. Beef up your router and install strong passwords on your router and wifi. Go to www.GRC.com and examine your router's firewall using the site's "Shields Up" tool.

6. Do NOT EVER DOWNLOAD ANYTHING FROM TOR. There are things known as "Malicious Exit Nodes" where data can be substituted WHILE ITS BEING DOWNLOADED TO YOUR MACHINE.

7. Simply using Tor puts you on a NSA watchlist. I'm not kidding about that. Its not illegal to browse though. FBI may also monitor its use for domestic related crimes.

Trap for what? Unless you plan on looking at kiddie pδrn or something else illegal, I don't see what you can get caught doing. Everything is already a "trap" including the Internet you're using now. We are all being monitored. If you don't think there aren't already moles on this site then idk what to tell you. They're everywhere anyway. People always fear what they don't really understand.

What do you think people use the dark web to do? :e1_25: It is used for many things, some legal and some not, but the shared characteristic is to connect with others with as little tracking as possible.

Why would you not be wary of something which purports to provide the same service, and privacy, without the protocol and steps which have been proven to work for over 20 years?
