In the Bible time is measured by each month having 30 days each making it 360 days per year. I wanted to know what year it would be if we went by the Bible. In order to do that I had to subtract 5 days per year on our calendar:
2018 x 5 = 10,090 (so that's 10,085 days ahead of time)
10,090 / 30 = 336 (so that's 336 months ahead of time)
336 / 12 = 28 (so that's 28 years ahead of time)
Y'all if we went by system God used we would be in the year 1990. That's crazy because that's the year I was born.

Hold on.. You mighta did something with this math. I'm bad at math lmao BUT that's besides the point. So then it hasn't been 2000 years. We would have to wait 10 more years to reach that.. So all those videos and stuff saying things might change or something might occur in 2028 might be on to something. Hmmm tell me more, you caught my interest.

Well I was apparently born 1962. Does this mean 2012 still possible?

Is 2012 significant for something?
The Mayan calendar stopped at the year 2012. People believed that that's when the world was going to end. They made a movie about it called 2012 but it's more of a entertainment movie, nothing informative.

I'm strictly going by measurement in the Bible. Man created their own calendar to include leap year. Isn't crazy our age is based off rotation?
If you’re going by the Bible, why also factor in the Mayan calendar? (When you speak of 2012)

She mentioned a prediction someone made and asked me to tell her more. Maya calendar is nothing more than a prediction. They originally pick May 2003 to be the end but when nothing happened they changed it to 2012. My guess is that white people have no clue as to what math measurement the Maya people used.

So God created 30 day months but he didn't create the 365.25 days it takes for Earth to circle the sun??

That's according to science. The thread says, "according to the bible"....
In the bible the Earth does not rotate around the sun.

In all ancient texts the sun and the moon rotate around a flat earth.

*I'm not christian.
*I'm not a "flat earther"

Just adding to the discussion at hand.
(Since we are discussing what's in the bible)

((shrugs)) Don't shoot the messenger. This is what's in OP's bible.

Just because I post something from it, that doesn't mean anything. I didn't come in here to judge. I just think this is an interesting discussion.

ETA: OP, you put this thread on the front porch so expect a lot of sarcastic replies and people laughing at you. Maybe the mods will move it to the appropriate forum and hopefully you can have a real discussion.

Well, if you wanna go by the Bible’s time measurements, you should use the Jewish calendar, which would place us at the year 5778.

Thank you. I'm not a christian. I wasn't aiming for a serious discussion. Someone on IG stated that the month of January came from a Romain god name Janus who have two faces: one for the future and one for the fast. Me being curious I wanted to know if the Bible spoke of time measurement and that's when I learned about 30 day per month and 360 day per year. I thought it would be a nice thread.

God measured time by the sun and the moon. Science measure time by earth orbit.

I was hoping this would be a good thread. I love curious people.

I didn't mean that you would be aiming for a serious religious discussion, just serious as in people not coming in laughing, judging, being dismissive, and sarcastic but actually engaging you in the topic.

As someone who is a scientist/engineer and also familiar with the bible, I added my 2 cents to try to get things going. I don't really understand the laughs and the groans. You created a really interesting thread. It has/had potential.

The ignorance is real and by ignorance I mean the real definition of the word, lacking knowledge or information. I don't think most people know God used the sun and the moon to measure time because why else would they try to oppose what I said using earth orbit. They can't comprehend I'm referring to the system God used and not what mankind use.
